Health Officer
Description

SUMMARY OF POSITION:

  • We are looking for organized, relational, care-focused individuals who can fulfill the overall ministry of Grace Adventures and implement the mission of summer camps and guest groups by overseeing the collection, storage, and distribution of camper and staff medications, assessing and providing care for minor injuries at camp, and leveraging the appropriate resources for major emergencies.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Implement a quality health care program that is safe, promotes health and safety practices, and meets state licensing requirements and laws.
  • Inventory and stock all necessary first aid supplies.
  • Enter all injuries, first aid treatments, and medication in the digital health record
  • Report all serious injuries or diseases to the director and to the state (as required by law)
  • Distribute all medication according to the prescription
  • Handle all emergencies according to company policy
  • Keep all medications and supplies secured
  • Follow procedures to care for bodily fluid clean up
  • Maintain a clean, professional environment in the Health Office

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintain a vital, growing, personal relationship with Jesus Christ
  • Stay physically fit to be able to minister
  • Complete staff training and follow all staff expectations
  • Become familiar with campus staff, facilities, and grounds
  • Attend all camp activities and meals 
  • Attend all staff meetings
  • Obey and enforce all camp rules and policies
  • Implement camp, guest group, and Community Worship programs with excellence
  • Assist with housekeeping: cleaning showers, bathrooms, and buildings to meet standards of excellence
  • Other duties as assigned by your supervisor(s)

POSITION TYPE: Seasonal

HOUSING: Provided throughout contract dates

MEALS: Provided throughout contract dates whenever campers or guests are being served

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Have a personal growing relationship with Jesus Christ
  • Knowledge and love for God's Word
  • Good health and stamina as required to implement a summer camp program. This will involve long hours and lifting at times. Ability to work in various weather climates and conditions.
  • Willing and teachable attitude
  • Team-based mindset
  • Must currently possess one of the following certifications or be willing and able to complete necessary training to obtain one of the following: Physician, Physician’s Assistant, Nurse Practitioner, Registered Nurse, Licensed Practical Nurse, Emergency Medical Technician, Medical first responder, Wilderness first responder, ARC Responding to Emergencies   
  • Must have current CPR certification or be willing and able to complete provided training
  • Minimum age 18 years old
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
