Description
SUMMARY OF POSITION:
- We are looking for relational, fun individuals who can fulfill the overall ministry of Grace Adventures and implement the mission of summer camps and guest groups by leading and supporting the members of the cabin leading team as they minister to campers and create a physically, emotionally, spiritually, and socially safe environment.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead and support the members of the cabin leading team as you collectively create a physically, emotionally, spiritually, and socially safe environment for all campers under the care of the ministry.
- Build relationships with cabin leaders and campers
- Provide support for behavior management situations
- Cover cabin supervision as necessary
- Teach and equip staff in knowledge and skills needed to perform their duties with excellence
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintain a vital, growing, personal relationship with Jesus Christ
- Stay physically fit to be able to minister
- Oversee, encourage, and provide feedback and accountability to other staff as part of the Summer Leadership Team
- Complete staff training and follow all staff expectations
- Become familiar with campus staff, facilities, and grounds
- Attend all staff meetings
- Obey and enforce all camp rules and policies
- Implement camp, guest group, and Community Worship programs with excellence
- Run activity sites according to company procedures, including, but not limited to: Target Sports, Waterfront, High Adventure, Outdoor Activities, Teambuilding, and Group Games
- Assist with housekeeping: cleaning showers, bathrooms, and buildings to meet standards of excellence
- Other duties as assigned by your supervisor(s)
POSITION TYPE: Seasonal
HOUSING: Provided throughout contract dates
MEALS: Provided throughout contract dates whenever campers or guests are being served
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Have a personal, growing relationship with Jesus Christ
- Love for kids and adults and the ability to communicate with them
- Good health and stamina as required to implement a summer camp program. This will involve long hours and lifting at times. Ability to work in various weather climates and conditions.
- Willing and teachable attitude
- Experience leading cabins, managing camper behavioral issues, and leading people
- Team-based mindset
- Minimum age 18 years old (21 or older preferred)
- Lifeguard Certification (not required, training provided)
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Valid Driver's License (preferred, but not required)
