Description

Show Up. Work Hard. Learn Something New. Build Your Future.

Are you someone who takes pride in a hard day's work? Do you show up ready to contribute, take direction, and give your best effort? Are you looking for an opportunity to learn new skills and grow within a manufacturing environment?

Bay Cast Technologies is looking for a dependable, hardworking General Laborer to support our machine shop operations. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who may be starting their career in manufacturing but has the right attitude, work ethic, and desire to learn.

You don't have to know everything on day one. What matters most is that you are reliable, willing to learn, pay attention to the details, and take pride in doing your work right. We want someone who sees what needs to be done, takes initiative, and doesn't wait to be asked every time.

We believe a great employee starts with a great attitude and a strong work ethic. The skills can be learned. The willingness to show up, work hard, and keep improving has to come from you.

What You'll Do

  • Load and unload materials, parts, and products from pallets or trucks, manually or using a hoist or forklift.
  • Move metal parts and stock to the appropriate work areas.
  • Keep machines and work areas clean by removing metal chips, shavings, and excess oil.
  • Assist with finishing machined parts using files, hand grinders, and chisels.
  • Apply rust preventative to metal parts using a brush or roller.
  • Use a mag-drill for drilling and tapping as needed.
  • Sweep and maintain clean, organized work areas.
  • Follow work instructions, parts lists, and basic blueprints.
  • Complete required process control paperwork accurately.
  • Look for ways to help the team and take care of what needs to get done.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What We're Looking For

We are more interested in your attitude and work ethic than having a long list of experience.

  • Dependable: You show up on time, are ready to work, and understand that attendance matters.
  • Hardworking: You give your best effort throughout the day and take pride in doing a job well.
  • Willing to Learn: You are open to learning new tasks, equipment, and skills.
  • Initiative: You notice what needs to be done and take action rather than waiting to be told every step.
  • Detail-Oriented: You follow instructions, pay attention to the details, and care about quality.
  • Team-Minded: You are respectful, professional, and willing to pitch in wherever needed.
  • Growth-Oriented: You want to improve yourself, take on more responsibility, and develop new skills over time.
  • Safety-Conscious: You follow procedures and take responsibility for working safely.

Experience & Qualifications

  • Previous manufacturing, machine shop, or industrial experience is helpful but not required.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Ability to safely use basic hand tools or willingness to learn.
  • Ability to read and follow basic instructions, parts lists, and blueprints.
  • Forklift or hoist experience is a plus; training and certification may be provided.
  • Must be willing to work overtime as production requires.

What the Job Requires

  • Standing, walking, bending, and reaching for extended periods.
  • Lifting, carrying, and moving materials and parts, with material-handling equipment available as needed.
  • Using hand tools, power tools, and cleaning equipment.
  • Working in a machine shop environment with exposure to machinery, metal stock, chips, oils, cutting fluids, and noise.
  • Wearing required personal protective equipment, including safety glasses, hearing protection, and safety footwear.

A Good Place to Start and a Chance to Grow

At Bay Cast Technologies, we value people who want to work, learn, and get better at what they do. This role is an opportunity to get your foot in the door, learn how a machine shop operates, develop practical skills, and become a valuable part of the team.

If you're dependable, take pride in your work, and want the opportunity to learn and grow, we'd like to meet you.
