ABOUT THE ROLE:
O'Neill Vintners & Distillers is seeking a polished, relationship-driven Manager, Estate Events and Activations to shape the luxury estate experience for our guests, trade, and community. As the face of the brand in the community, this role builds and stewards relationships with VIPs, wine club members, media, and trade partners, and works with the Chief Growth Officer, marketing, and DTC teams on the estate's broader brand and marketing needs.
Private events, weddings, trade activations, and consumer experiences are central to this role. The Manager develops a cohesive events calendar, supports pricing and packaging for event offerings, and works with estate leadership, hospitality, culinary, winemaking, and sales to ensure every event and activation supports our commercial goals while upholding the highest standards of luxury hospitality and guest experience.
This role reports to the Sr. Manager, Brand and is based at Robert Hall, initially focusing on that property with the potential to expand to Ram's Gate Winery as business needs evolve.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Brand Ambassadorship & Relationship Building:
- Represent the estate at community, regional, and industry events, serving as a visible ambassador who strengthens brand awareness, goodwill, and key relationships through active networking, civic involvement, and industry engagement.
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with VIPs, wine club members, media, and trade partners that drive loyalty, repeat visitation, and referrals.
- Collaborate with estate leadership, marketing, and DTC teams to align events and activations with the estate’s broader brand strategy, guest experience objectives, and commercial priorities.
Estate Marketing Support:
- Own estate-level execution of marketing elements beyond events, including social media content, local advertising, signage, collateral, and promotional materials, in partnership with the O'Neill marketing and DTC teams.
- Serve as the estate's on-site marketing point of contact, coordinating photo/video content capture, local press opportunities, and community marketing.
- Help execute estate-level marketing campaigns and initiatives, ensuring brand consistency and timely, on-brand execution.
Private Events & Weddings:
- Represent the estate's brand, standards, and commercial interests throughout the planning and execution of weddings and private events as the on-site point of contact; partnering closely with outside wedding and event planners, who coordinate the detailed logistics of each event.
- Prepare estate facilities, operations, and offerings to secure, book, and execute high-level paid private events, including weddings.
- Build and maintain relationships with a network of top-tier partners and vendors, including hotels, restaurants, staffing companies, rental and production companies, florists, and other event vendors, to support seamless, high-level event execution.
- Set and manage venue pricing, packaging, and contracts for private event offerings in partnership with finance and estate leadership.
- Coordinate with culinary, winemaking, and operations teams, and with outside wedding/event planners, to ensure a seamless, on-brand guest experience for every event.
Trade, Media and VIP Activations:
- Create, lead, and host VIP, media, and trade visits and experiences that showcase the estate and support sales and brand-building goals.
- Partner with sales and marketing teams to design trade activations, tastings, and hosted visits that strengthen key accounts and distributor relationships.
- Coordinate logistics, hospitality, and follow-up for trade and media hosting to ensure a consistently strong brand impression and estate experience.
Consumer & DTC Experiences:
- Design and deliver consumer-facing experiences, tastings, and wine club programming that drive visitation, conversion, and member retention.
- Build and manage an annual events calendar that balances private, trade, and consumer programming across the property.
- Analyze event performance data (attendance, revenue, conversion, guest feedback) for use in refining future programming.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required:
- 5+ years of experience in events, hospitality, or experiential marketing, ideally in wine, spirits, hospitality, or luxury consumer brands.
- Experience engaging high-touch individuals, collectors, and other discerning clientele in luxury hospitality environments.
- Demonstrated success planning and executing private events, weddings, or large-scale hosted experiences.
- Strong relationship-building skills with a track record of engaging VIPs, media, and trade partners.
- Comfortable acting as a public face of the brand: confident public speaking, hosting, and networking presence in high-touch, luxury settings.
- Excellent project management skills with the ability to manage multiple events and stakeholders simultaneously.
- Strong budget management and vendor negotiation skills.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as the events calendar requires.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Certification in California Food Handler Training, California RBS (Responsible Beverage Service) Training, and California Alcohol Server Training, each required within 30 days of employment.
Preferred:
- Existing network within the local wine, hospitality, or business community.
- Experience with wine club, DTC, or membership programs.
- Familiarity with event and CRM software (e.g., Tock, Commerce7, or similar platforms).
- WSET or wine industry certification.
- Knowledge of luxury wine service, collector culture, and the Paso Robles and Napa/Sonoma luxury hospitality landscape.

PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to do the following:
- Stand, sit, walk, and move for prolonged periods during planning, event set-up, hosting, and execution.
- Perform some repetitive motion activities.
- Coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Regularly lift, move, carry, and stack event-related supplies up to 25 lbs.
- Maintain focus and attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to remain composed, adapt to high-pressure situations, and problem-solve quickly in a dynamic, guest-facing environment.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- This is an on-site position working at Robert Hall Winery; regularly working evenings, weekends, and holidays to support the events calendar.
- Works both indoors and outdoors across estate grounds in varying weather conditions.
- Travel between estate properties may be required depending on role scope.
California Pay Transparency Notice: This position is classified as exempt. The base compensation range for this role is $80,000 to $85,000/year. Candidates are generally not hired at or near the maximum of the base compensation range. Final salary placement will depend on several factors, which may include the candidate’s qualifications, education, relevant experience, and alignment with current market data.
