Position Overview:
The Bulls organization is committed to engaging with our alumni (former players) to ensure they can continue to call the Chicago Bulls home even after retiring from basketball. The Coordinator of Alumni Relations supports these efforts year-round, ensuring that the experience for our alumni and organization is of the highest quality and portrays the alumni in a positive light. This role serves to ensure that all alumni activations are a highly organized and coordinated experience. This role plays a crucial part in our work to keep our former players involved and active with both the Bulls and the Chicago community.
Responsibilities:
- Help to manage all internal appearances for Bulls Alumni, including (but not limited to) gameday appearances.
- Assist with the coordination and planning of various alumni-based events and initiatives.
- Collaborate with internal departments, to track their key departmental needs and serve as a key liaison to all departments for coordinating alumni appearances.
- Build reports on measurements of success, key performance indicators, and achieving programmatic goals.
- Provide on the ground support to ensure alumni are prepared and arrive on time for appearances.
- Demonstrate effectiveness in relationship building and program/event planning and execution.
- Ensure the alumni database is comprehensive and accurate and ensure personal information provided by alumni is handled in a professional and confidential manner.
- Assist in the creation of alumni profiles that include strengths, likes/dislikes, preferences for appearances, and hospitality needs.
- Process expenses and payment memos in a timely manner and additional administrative duties.
- Assist with the communication process to engage with Alumni and keep them informed of team news, alumni opportunities, and resources.
- Produce end-of-year recap on all events, initiatives, and resources regarding former players.
- Establish a high standard and process for all alumni appearances and events.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Support various Chicago Bulls community outreach initiatives and game day activations
- Support any related hospitality events
Qualifications:
The Coordinator of Alumni Relations should understand the professional sports business, including the importance of working with former professional athletes. In addition, the person filling this role will have a mix of the following qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree and 1+ years of prior work experience in business, hospitality, entertainment and/or sports sectors (internship experience can count towards this experience).
- Proven experience in balancing multiple priorities.
- Strong understanding of the Chicago hospitality landscape.
- Highly organized and competent with coordinating travel and scheduling plans for alumni.
- Outstanding verbal, writing, presentation, time management, and organizational skills.
- Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment and deliver effective turnkey solutions in a limited timeframe.
- High professional and ethical standards for handling confidential information.
- A hardworking and collaborative teammate with a positive attitude
- Ability to prioritize and has impeccable follow through.
- Initiative and dedication to challenge self and continually strive for improvement.
- Ability to effectively handle personnel issues and deal constructively with conflict.
- Previous experience working with professional and/or collegiate athletes preferred.
- Positive attitude and strong work ethic
- Must be willing to work necessary hours within the NBA schedule; must be able to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to contribute to a balanced, productive work environment with positive relationships, and follow through on duties as assigned
Compensation & Benefits:
The annual base salary range for this role is $45,000 - $47,500. This role is also eligible for overtime and a annual discretionary bonus. This salary range is an estimate, and the actual salary will vary based on applicant’s education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.

The Chicago Bulls offer workplace flexibility. Full-time remote work is not an option for this role and interested applicants should be currently located in or prepared to move to the Chicagoland area. This role will require a flexible schedule with the ability to work evenings and weekends as required.
