Digital Advertising Manager - Contract to Hire
Description

Digital Advertising Manager

Performance Marketing • Full-Time • Contract-to-Hire

Great paid campaigns don't happen by accident — they happen because someone sweats the details, catches the tracking gap before it costs a client, and keeps every launch on time and on budget. That's you.

As our Digital Advertising Manager, you'll own the execution behind our paid search and paid social work. You'll turn strategy into accurate, high-performing campaigns, lead our offshore build team day to day, and be the client-ready technical voice who can hop on a call and solve problems fast. You won't just keep the engine running. You'll help us scale it.

About UpSwell

UpSwell is a fast-growing marketing agency helping businesses across the country grow through innovative direct mail and digital marketing solutions. As a five-time Best and Brightest Company to Work For, we're proud of the talented people, collaborative culture, and entrepreneurial spirit that make UpSwell a great place to build a career.

We're a team of smart, driven, and curious people who move quickly, solve problems, challenge ideas, and take pride in delivering exceptional work. We believe in giving people the opportunity to make an impact, take ownership, and grow as the business grows.

As we continue to expand, we're looking for exceptional people who bring fresh perspectives, strong work ethics, and a genuine desire to make things better.

Why You'll Love It Here

• We're growing fast — which means real opportunities to grow your career right along with us.

• Hybrid work environment that gives you flexibility without losing the team energy.

• A clear path to a permanent role, with a hiring decision at Day 90.

• Real ownership — you'll shape how paid media gets done here, not just follow a playbook.

What You'll Own

• Audit every paid search and paid social account, fix tracking gaps, and set performance baselines.

• Own campaign launches, pauses, and restarts so every start and stop happens on time.

• Keep budgets on pace with a consistent pacing cadence and clear visibility into spend.

• Run ad-policy and compliance checks across all live campaigns.

• Lead our offshore campaign build team day to day — workflows, QA checklists, naming conventions, and account structure.

• Join client calls as the go-to technical expert and resolve issues quickly.

• Deliver monthly performance insights, stronger reporting, and strategic recommendations in-platform.

• Train and upskill our Digital Success Managers so quality never depends on one person.

• Help launch new products and scale our execution capacity within an omni-channel, organic-first approach.

Requirements

• 3–5 years of hands-on experience managing paid search and paid social campaigns.

• Deep in-platform know-how across major ad platforms, including tracking, conversion setup, and budget management.

• Experience leading or coordinating a team, including offshore or remote builders.

• Confidence speaking with clients and translating technical issues into plain language.

• A process-minded approach — you love a good QA checklist and clean account structure.

• Availability for daily overlap with our offshore team's working hours.

How We'll Know You're Crushing It

• Every account is audited, tracking is fixed, and baselines are set within your first 30 days.

• Campaigns launch, pause, and restart on time — and budgets stay on pace.

• The build team runs on a consistent QA and daily workflow, and quality holds steady.

• Clients trust you as their technical go-to — and their results show it.

This is a full-time, contract-to-hire role with a check-in at Day 45 and a hiring decision at Day 90. It reports to the Director of Performance Marketing and includes day-to-day leadership of our offshore campaign build team.
