OVERVIEW:

The Zero Trust Data Analyst supports the CIO Zero Trust program by collecting, validating, analyzing, and reporting data that informs program decisions, maturity assessments, performance tracking, risk identification, and implementation planning. This mid-level role works with program, technical, architecture, finance, and mission stakeholders to turn fragmented program data, technical inputs, metrics, and reporting requirements into accurate, decision-ready products.

The Data Analyst develops and maintains dashboards, trackers, data models, briefings, and recurring reports that provide visibility into Zero Trust initiatives, capability progress, dependencies, gaps, funding, risks, and outcomes. The role supports data calls, governance reviews, leadership updates, and audit or compliance responses, while ensuring data is traceable, appropriately sourced, consistently defined, and protected in accordance with security requirements.

GENERAL DUTIES:

  • Collect, clean, validate, reconcile, and maintain program data from authoritative sources, including project trackers, architecture artifacts, requirements, risk registers, data calls, meeting records, implementation plans, and stakeholder inputs.
  • Develop repeatable data collection methods, templates, data dictionaries, naming conventions, metric definitions, quality checks, and reporting procedures for Zero Trust program data.
  • Analyze Zero Trust implementation data to identify trends, gaps, dependencies, blockers, risks, ownership issues, schedule impacts, and opportunities for improved execution.
  • Build and maintain dashboards, scorecards, charts, briefing visuals, status reports, and executive-ready summaries that communicate program performance, maturity, and risk posture.
  • Support Zero Trust maturity assessments, capability mapping, pillar reporting, milestone tracking, and leadership decision support using quantitative and qualitative data.
  • Coordinate with technical teams, pillar advisors, architects, program managers, governance staff, cybersecurity personnel, and mission stakeholders to gather, clarify, and validate data inputs.
  • Maintain traceability between reported metrics, source data, assumptions, calculations, responsible owners, reporting periods, and supporting documentation.
  • Respond to data calls and support recurring reporting requirements by preparing accurate, timely, and well-documented responses for program leadership and Government stakeholders.
  • Perform quality reviews to identify inconsistent, incomplete, outdated, duplicate, or conflicting data and coordinate with data owners to resolve discrepancies.
  • Recommend improvements to data management, reporting workflows, automation, dashboards, and analytic products to reduce manual effort and improve leadership visibility.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Working knowledge of data analysis methods, data quality management, metric development, dashboarding, reporting, and data visualization practices.

  • Ability to develop data dictionaries, metric definitions, dashboards, trackers, scorecards, charts, and executive-ready analytic products.
  • Strong technical writing and briefing skills, including the ability to summarize complex data, assumptions, trends, gaps, and risks for technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to turn incomplete, inconsistent, or fragmented information into reliable analytic outputs and decision-support products.
  • Ability to manage multiple reporting cycles, data calls, dashboards, and stakeholder requests under tight deadlines.
  • Ability to work across technical, program, cybersecurity, architecture, acquisition, finance, and mission teams while protecting sensitive information.
  • Ability to identify data issues, clarify assumptions, document limitations, and elevate risks or inconsistencies appropriately.
