Description

BETA is seeking a knowledgeable Water Resources and Waste Water Project Manager. In this role, the Project Manager will manage and work alongside industry-leading engineers on high-profile water and wastewater infrastructure projects for a largely municipal client base. This position will play a key role in the continued growth of our firm. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing and overseeing technical designs, managing projects from conceptual to final design, overseeing the preparation of contract plans and documents, mentoring staff, and executing client management activities.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage projects from development of scopes, budgets and schedules through to design and construction phase services on a variety of water and wastewater treatment, conveyance and distribution projects 
  • Plan and coordinate all aspects of multiple concurrent projects including schedules, conduct, and attention to detailed phases of projects
  • Lead multi-discipline design teams for projects at water and wastewater facilities 
  • Work with staff to produce planning documents, advance detailed engineering designs, develop and review contract documents for construction
  • Produce superior designs, reports, and models, responsible for ensuring proper quality control procedures on all projects
  • Mentor junior staff by coaching them on technical procedures and review their work for accuracy 
  • Maintain client relations on assigned projects and drive them to completion
  • Skillfully negotiate contracts and develop agreements  
  • Continue to broaden technical skills within the chosen discipline
  • Lead team, client and public meetings
  • Engage in business development and manage project pursuits

Preferred location is BETA’s Norwood office. Candidates should have flexibility to work from our other office locations. BETA also offers a hybrid work schedule, allowing employees to request working remotely up to 2 days per week.

Requirements

Required Experience/Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in civil or environmental engineering
  • Professional Engineer (PE) License
  • 10 to 15+ years of related engineering experience in water resources and/or stormwater projects
  • Demonstrated strong background in environmental engineering and hydrologic and hydraulic modeling with software programs
  • Project Management experience
  • Skilled in writing and ability to prepare formal reports
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills
  • Must be able to collect field data and measurements and perform asset inspections for water and wastewater infrastructure, in addition to roadway and other utility assets;
  • Must be able to lift/move objects weighing up to 40 pounds
  • Must be able to perform field work in both hot and cold weather (rain and/or snow)
  • Must be able to stand or sit for long periods of time
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

Preferred Experience/Skills :

  • Proficient in AutoCAD, Civil3D, HydroCAD and ArcGIS/Pro experience
  • OSHA Certifications (ie: OSHA 10-Construction)

$106,000-$160,000 or commensurate
