Spatial Front, Inc. (SFI), a two-time USA Today Top Workplaces awardee and Washington Top Workplaces honoree, is seeking a highly technical Oracle Cloud / OCI Specialist to support a high-visibility federal modernization effort. This role will serve as a trusted advisor in the migration of mission-critical PeopleSoft HCM and related systems from on-premises environments to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) within a DoD-regulated environment.
This is a consultative and hands-on role requiring close collaboration with Government stakeholders, Oracle teams, and internal delivery teams to design, secure, and implement cloud-based solutions that meet stringent compliance and operational requirements.
Work Location: Hybrid / On-site, Arlington, VA
Key Responsibilities:
- Advise the Government client on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) strategy, environment planning, and migration considerations for PeopleSoft HCM and related enterprise systems.
- Work closely with Oracle, infrastructure teams, security teams, and application stakeholders to define and implement cloud environments, tenancy and compartment strategies, network designs, and supporting operational models.
- Develop and refine OCI environment approaches for development, test, staging, production, disaster recovery, and other required program environments based on operational and security needs.
- Design and configure OCI foundational components such as virtual cloud networks, subnets, routing, gateways, security lists, network security groups, load balancing, storage, compute, and backup services as required by the program.
- Establish and validate OCI identity, access, and security configurations, including least-privilege access models, role separation, credential management, logging, monitoring, and auditability.
- Support alignment of cloud designs and configurations with DoD policies, security controls, STIG-informed hardening approaches, RMF expectations, and other applicable compliance requirements.
- Assess current on-premises architecture, dependencies, interfaces, and operational processes to identify migration impacts, configuration requirements, risks, and sequencing considerations.
- Recommend and document best practices for OCI environment provisioning, configuration management, patching, backup and recovery, high availability, disaster recovery, and sustainment operations.
- Support security reviews, technical planning sessions, architecture discussions, and design decision-making with clear recommendations grounded in mission, performance, and compliance needs.
- Coordinate with Oracle and internal teams to troubleshoot environment, configuration, connectivity, and security issues encountered during planning, setup, migration, and post-migration activities.
- Develop architecture artifacts, implementation guidance, SOPs, runbooks, environment diagrams, and configuration documentation to support repeatable and supportable OCI operations.
- Contribute to risk management, cutover planning, validation planning, and operational readiness activities to help ensure cure and stable transition from on-premises environments to OCI.
- Promote infrastructure-as-code, automation, standards, and governance practices that are appropriate to improve consistency, traceability, and long-term maintainability of cloud environments.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Cybersecurity, or a related field; equivalent relevant experience may be considered.
- 5+ years of experience in infrastructure, cloud, platform, or enterprise systems engineering, including experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).
- Demonstrated experience supporting DoD programs is required, including experience working within DoD security, compliance, and operational policy environments.
- Experience designing, configuring, or advising on OCI environments, including networking, security, IAM, compute, storage, backup, monitoring, and environment setup.
- Strong understanding of cloud migration planning, environment strategy, secure configuration, operational readiness, and transition considerations for enterprise systems.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with Government stakeholders, Oracle, security teams, and technical delivery teams while providing practical, well-structured recommendations.
- Experience producing technical documentation, architecture artifacts, configuration guidance, and operational runbooks for complex environments.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen.
- Must possess an active Secret security clearance or be able to obtain one.
Desired Skills
- Experience supporting migration of PeopleSoft HCM, Oracle-based enterprise systems, or similar mission-critical applications from on-premises environments to OCI.
- Knowledge of OCI landing zone concepts, tenancy and compartment design, network segmentation, security baselines, logging and monitoring, and backup and disaster recovery planning.
- Familiarity with DoD cloud governance, RMF-related activities, STIG-based hardening practices, boundary and network security considerations, and audit readiness expectations.
- Experience advising clients on cloud operating models, environment management, role separation, access controls, and long-term sustainment planning.
- Experience coordinating directly with Oracle or cloud vendor teams during architecture planning, issue resolution, migration support, or operational readiness activities.
- Working knowledge of scripting, automation, and infrastructure-as-code concepts to support repeatable provisioning and configuration management practices.
- Experience with architecture reviews, risk identification, dependency mapping, performance considerations, and phased migration or cutover planning.
- Oracle Cloud Infrastructure certifications are a plus.
