Life Enrichment Coordinator  

Starting pay will vary based on job-related skills, experience, and qualifications 

Position Summary
The Life Enrichment Coordinator develops and leads meaningful programs that promote purpose, engagement, and well-being for residents. This role assesses resident interests and needs, creates individualized and group activities, coordinates community events, and fosters a vibrant, person-directed living environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, implement, and evaluate engaging life enrichment programs for residents.
  • Conduct resident assessments, develop care plans, and maintain required documentation.
  • Create and manage activity calendars, special events, outings, and volunteer programs.
  • Encourage participation through social, physical, cognitive, spiritual, creative, and community-based activities.
  • Collaborate with residents, families, team members, and community partners to support resident well-being.
  • Lead Resident Council meetings and participate in interdisciplinary care planning.
  • Supervise activity staff and volunteers as assigned.
  • Maintain program supplies, equipment, and department budget.
  • Support campus-wide events and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; degree in Recreational Therapy or related field preferred.
  • One year of experience in life enrichment, recreation, healthcare, or working with older adults preferred.
  • Must meet Virginia activity professional qualification requirements.
  • Valid Virginia driver's license with the ability to drive a 13-passenger bus.
  • Certified Dementia Practitioner (CDP) and/or ADC, CTRS, or COTA credentials preferred or ability to obtain within six months of hire.
  • Strong communication, organization, leadership, and time-management skills.
  • Genuine passion for serving older adults.
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Physical Requirements
Lifts, carries, pushes, or otherwise manipulates residents/equipment and office materials weighing up to 60lbs regularly and up to 200lbs occasionally. Always use proper lifting and moving protocol and techniques.
