About this Opportunity:
The Quality Control Water Spider supports multiple Quality Control departments by ensuring the timely and accurate movement of material throughout the inspection process. This position works closely with Quality Inspectors to maintain efficient product flow, reduce material-handling delays, and allow inspectors to remain focused on inspection activities. The Waterspider also helps ensure product identification, documentation, and traceability are maintained throughout the Quality Control process.
Responsibilities:
- Move and stage material between QC1, CMM, Final QC, QC-Lot, Receiving/IQC, MRB, and other Quality areas as needed.
- Monitor inspection queues and assist with prioritizing material based on production and Quality requirements.
- Deliver material to the appropriate inspection area and move completed material to the correct next operation or staging location.
- Maintain product identification and traceability throughout material movement.
- Ensure work orders, travelers, labels, and required documentation remain with the correct material.
- Maintain FIFO and established material-flow requirements.
- Assist Quality Inspectors with locating, staging, and transporting parts, documentation, fixtures, and other inspection-related items.
- Maintain organized Quality staging areas and support 5S and continuous improvement activities.
- Identify and escalate misplaced material, missing documentation, incorrect routing, or other material-flow issues.
- Coordinate with Quality, Production, Warehouse, Planning, and other departments to prevent delays.
- Support high-volume Quality areas to minimize the amount of time inspectors spend transporting or locating material.
- Follow applicable Quality procedures, work instructions, safety requirements, and company policies.
- Perform other Quality Control support duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous manufacturing, material handling, warehouse, or Quality Control experience preferred.
- Ability to read and follow work orders, travelers, labels, and basic manufacturing documentation.
- Strong attention to detail when handling part numbers, quantities, revisions, lot numbers, and traceability information.
- Ability to prioritize and support multiple Quality departments in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Basic computer and ERP system knowledge is preferred.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to safely move and transport material using approved carts and material-handling equipment.
- Ability to work independently while coordinating with multiple departments.
- Must follow established procedures for handling inspected and nonconforming material.
