About this Opportunity:

In absence of Supervisor, assist inspectors with day-to-day activities and interacts with Production Manager to resolve quality-related production problems. Functions independently within broad scope of established department policies and goals; generally, refer specific problems to supervisor only where clarification of operating policies and procedures may be required.  


Responsibilities:

  • Assigns jobs in the absence of supervisor. 
  • Interact with Press Room/Tool Room Supervisor in the absence of the Quality Supervisor. 
  • Assist production employees with problems and questions. 
  • Interact with tooling personnel to resolve problems. 
  • Perform inspection utilizing latest state of the art equipment. 
  • Utilize computer to verify job number and print PIR sheets, etc. 
  • Perform all duties of a Quality Control Technician. 
  • Hold MRB in absence of Supervisor when needed. 
  • Maintain an organized, clean and safe work environment by following 6S standards. 
  • Properly follow all H&M procedures and policies.?  
  • Use correct P.P.E. per JHAs and Job Description.? 
  • Participate in Continuous Improvement activities, including the Idea System. 
  • Perform all other duties as assigned. 
  • Exercise immediate guidance, assigns and allocates work and provides basic training.  
  • Performs detailed work of the same or closely allied nature.  
  • In the absence of the QC Supervisor, ensures departmental conformance to all company policies and procedures.  Conflicts should be reported to the appropriate authority.  
  • Provides input to performance evaluations.  
Requirements
  • Able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  
  • High school Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) preferred; or two to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. 
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.   
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.   
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. 
  • Ability to do basic math in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals in both English and metric; Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. 
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.   
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
