The hours for this role are Monday - Friday 8:30am - 5pm.
Summary of the Position: The Process Formulation Analyst will be responsible for collecting and analyzing blend data, providing feedback to the formulation team for solid dosage, liquids and soft chew forms. The candidate is responsible for providing technical support to internal and external customers when necessary for all new and existing formulations/products. Candidate must be self-motivated and able to work in a team-based environment. The candidate must be mathematically proficient and have experience with in-line real time Process Analytical Technology (PAT) tools – ideally Near Infrared. The candidate should also be familiar with off-line analytical instruments and a chemometric modeling background to calibrate real-time measurements with off-line measurements. The successful candidate will need proficiency in designing and performing scientific experiments to solve problems
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Gather and analyze data to support process improvement initiatives and measure their effectiveness
- Create detailed documentation of in-process monitoring analysis and provide recommendations for process improvements
- Capable of supporting and leading scientific studies
- Assist in troubleshooting problematic formulas
- Gather data to justify in-process production parameters and finished product specification
- Perform bench trials, physical evaluations, and collect data to support product formulation
- Familiar with PD lab equipment: blenders, mixers, tablet presses, coating machines
- Prepare specifications, documentation, and reports related to formulations
- Provide ongoing technical support to internal/external customers
- Performs job duties with minimal assistance
- Ensure compliance with all federal and state government agency laws
- Ensuring all GMP practices are followed
- Communicate effectively with other departments within the organization and function within a team environment.

- Perform other assigned duties as may be required in meeting company objectives.
- May be exposed to raw materials and or finished goods derived from but not limited to: bovine, milk, soy, shellfish, pork, chicken, tuna, eggs, peanuts, tree nuts, fish, wheat, sesame and other allergen sources.
Minimum Requirements: Minimum: 3+ years’ experience in multivariate techniques like Principal Component Analysis (PCA) and/or Partial Least Squares (PLS) is preferred. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to assess complex processes and identify improvement opportunities. Ideally, the candidate should have experience working with nutraceutical and/or pharmaceutical powders and liquids. Experience working with optimizing blending operations in the lab or in production is a plus.
Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in chemistry or other equivalent degree in a related field. Prefer MS in chemistry
