As a member of the ENTEC Controls Operation Team, you will participate in a cross-functional summer internship designed to give you firsthand experience in the many phases of Building Automation Systems (BAS) execution. This team works with clients to improve the functionality and energy efficiency of their facilities through state-of-the-art controls, advanced data analytics, and energy management information.

Because our projects vary in size and duration, this internship is intentionally flexible. Rather than following a single project from start to finish, you will jump into multiple active projects at different stages of completion and work alongside experts in:

• Engineering:  Assisting with the initial evaluation and layout of control systems.
• Project Management:  Supporting project milestones, scheduling resources, and field coordination.
• Programming & Graphics:  Collaborating on the creation of control logic and learning how to build graphics that allow end users to interact with their system.
• Installation & Start-up:  Spending time in the field to support the installation phase, observe equipment troubleshooting, and help field technicians get systems up and running.

By stepping into different roles across our current projects, you will provide support where it is needed most while building a well-rounded understanding of how a BAS team operates, adapts, and delivers. 

Required:

• 2 years of progressive work towards a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, computer science, construction management, or related field.  
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office products and Google Workspace products
• Great attitude and work ethic
• A willingness to learn about HVAC / mechanical equipment and Building Automation Systems

Preferred:

• Basic HVAC and mechanical knowledge
