POSITION SUMMARY
On Time Ambulance is seeking a skilled, dependable, and detail-oriented Uniform Tailoring & Embroidery Specialist to support our uniform program in Roselle, New Jersey.
The Uniform Tailoring & Embroidery Specialist is responsible for providing professional alterations, tailoring, embroidery, garment repairs, and uniform preparation for employees. This position will help ensure that team members receive properly fitted, professionally presented uniforms that meet organizational standards.
The ideal candidate will have experience with sewing, alterations, garment construction, and embroidery equipment and will be comfortable working independently while managing multiple uniform requests and priorities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESTailoring & Alterations
- Perform alterations and adjustments to employee uniforms, including hemming pants, adjusting waistlines, shortening sleeves, and making other fit-related modifications.
- Measure employees and assist with proper uniform sizing and fitting.
- Perform minor garment repairs, including repairing seams, replacing buttons, repairing hems, and addressing other routine uniform damage.
- Inspect garments before and after alterations to ensure quality and professional appearance.
- Maintain consistent workmanship and appearance across all uniforms.
Embroidery & Uniform Customization
- Operate commercial embroidery equipment to apply approved company logos, employee names, titles, and other authorized markings.
- Properly position and secure garments for embroidery.
- Select appropriate embroidery settings, thread, backing, and other materials based on the garment and design.
- Inspect completed embroidery for proper placement, alignment, spelling, appearance, and overall quality.
- Assist with applying patches, emblems, and other approved uniform identifiers.
- Troubleshoot routine embroidery and sewing equipment issues.
Uniform Management
- Assist with receiving, organizing, preparing, and distributing employee uniforms.
- Maintain an organized workflow for new uniforms, alterations, embroidery, repairs, and completed items.
- Track uniform requests and completed work to help maintain appropriate turnaround times.
- Assist with maintaining uniform inventory and identifying items that require replenishment.
- Coordinate with Operations and other departments regarding uniform needs, priorities, and special requests.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized uniform and embroidery work area.
Pay Transparency:
The above reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position if hired to work in New Jersey.
The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate’s educational background, skills, and professional experience.
In addition to base salary, this position may be eligible for clinical certification pay and/or shift differentials.

QUALIFICATIONS
- Previous experience in tailoring, sewing, alterations, embroidery, garment production, or a related field preferred.
- Experience operating commercial or multi-needle embroidery machines preferred.
- Ability to operate standard sewing machines and related equipment.
- Knowledge of garment measurements, alterations, fabrics, thread, and basic garment construction.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Ability to manage multiple assignments and prioritize workload.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSThis position may require prolonged periods of sitting or standing while operating sewing and embroidery equipment. The employee must be able to use hands and fingers for detailed garment work, bending, measuring, cutting, sewing, and equipment operation. The position may also require occasionally lifting, carrying, or moving boxes and supplies associated with uniforms and garments.
WORK ENVIRONMENTWork will primarily be performed at the On Time Ambulance location in Roselle, New Jersey, in a designated uniform, sewing, and embroidery workspace. The position involves regular interaction with employees requiring uniforms, fittings, alterations, and related services.

COMPENSATIONHourly Range: $27.00–$33.00 per hour, commensurate with experience, demonstrated tailoring and embroidery skills, and ability to independently manage assigned uniform services.
