Position Summary

The Operations Assistant contributes to the company’s overall success by supporting installation operations and warehouse activities. This position coordinates activities of sub-contractors engaged in installations, assists with material handling and inventory control, supports daily load-out, and helps maintain a safe, organized warehouse to ensure customer satisfaction and compliance with company policies and procedures. This position will be responsible for the following duties and responsibilities:


Key Responsibilities

Operations and Installations Support

· Coordinate installation activities and help ensure installations are completed according to schedule.

· Facilitate daily material load-out to subcontractors and ensure required materials are prepared and available.

· Process orders as necessary to support subcontractors and the Operations department.

· Maintain regular communication with subcontractors regarding schedules, materials, and installation needs.

· Respond to installation-related questions or challenges from subcontractors, Sales Representatives, and customers and provide appropriate assistance or escalate issues as needed.

· Ensure quality-assurance pictures and other required installation information are maintained and displayed as directed.

· Assist with the upkeep of company vehicles and conduct or support routine inspections of vehicles, machinery, and equipment to help ensure safe and proper operation.

· Travel to installation sites as necessary to inspect work and support customer satisfaction.

Warehouse and Inventory Responsibilities

· Read and understand production schedules and work orders to ensure the correct materials are pulled, measured, cut, staged, and distributed for daily load-out.

· Receive, unload, sort, and properly store flooring materials on racks, shelves, or in designated locations according to product type, size, style, or product code.

· Safely operate forklift equipment and other warehouse equipment to pull, move, cut, load, and unload materials.

· Maintain accurate inventory records by recording materials received and distributed and by affixing and printing inventory tags as required.

· Assist with inventory audits by verifying inventory quantities and reporting discrepancies or concerns to management.

· Sell supplies to subcontractors and maintain accurate documentation of transactions as required.

· Operate company vehicles, when needed, to deliver materials to subcontractors or Flooring Technicians in the field.

· Maintain the warehouse, parking lot, and surrounding work areas in a clean, safe, and organized condition, including sweeping floors and coordinating dumpster pickups as needed.

· Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and guidelines while working in the warehouse and operating machinery; promptly report inventory, equipment, or safety concerns to management.

Administrative and Branch Support

· Maintain inventory tag printing and other warehouse or Operations documentation.

· Assist management with questions regarding work orders, materials, inventory, and installation activity.

· Support branch and Operations administrative duties as needed.

· Stay current with applicable safety requirements, company procedures, and industry best practices.

· Perform other related duties as assigned based on business and branch needs.


Qualifications

· 2+ years of flooring industry knowledge or related operations, installation, warehouse, or material-handling experience preferred.

· Effective written and verbal communication skills; ability to communicate in English and Spanish preferred.

· Strong problem-solving and reasoning skills with the ability to follow written, verbal, and diagram-based instructions.

· Detail-oriented with the ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.

· Ability to work independently and collaboratively and adapt to changing priorities and operational needs.

· Basic mathematical skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.

· Working knowledge of Windows and Microsoft Office applications with the ability to learn

· internal systems and navigate multiple computer applications.

· Ability to learn and maintain knowledge of company products, services, software, and operational procedures.

· Must maintain forklift certification.

· Must have and maintain a valid driver's license.


Physical Demands

· Frequently lift and move materials weighing 1-49 pounds; materials weighing 50+ pounds must be handled using a buddy system or forklift.

· Frequently stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, handle, grip, climb, and balance; sitting is occasional.

· Must have sufficient hearing and verbal communication ability to understand instructions and communicate accurately with coworkers, subcontractors, and customers.

· Requires close, distance, color, and peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.


Work Environment

This position works in both office and warehouse environments and regularly uses standard office and warehouse equipment. Warehouse duties may involve exposure to moving mechanical parts, outside weather conditions, heat, cold, vibration, and other conditions typical of a flooring-material warehouse. The role routinely uses equipment such as forklifts, box cutters, and cutting machines. The environment is fast paced and requires consistent adherence to safety procedures.

Salary Description
$20.00
