We are seeking a Dental Assistant who will perform the following duties necessary for assisting the dentist in the direct provision of dental care and for the daily efficient operation of the dental clinic.

 

Expected Schedule: Full-Time, 40 hours/week; Monday through Friday, 8:00am- 4:30pm 

  

Outline of Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assists dentists with all dental procedures utilizing four-handed dentistry
  • Exposes digital radiographs, scans for digital impressions, and pours models per generally accepted practice and department standards.
  • Performs sterilization and disinfection procedures per OSHA standards
  • Tracks lab work sent and received
  • Maintains supply stock in operatories
  • Launders staff scrub jackets 
  • Returns patient phone calls, phones in prescriptions, and schedules patient appointments with the Dental Director’s approval
  • Participates in staff meetings, in-service education, seminars, and continuing education
  • Treats co-workers, clients and visitors respectfully, courteously and professionally, addressing conflict and disagreement in a positive and respectful manner.
  • Participates in all safety programs which may include assignment to an emergency response team
  • Assists with other related routine operational duties as needed or assigned by the Dental Operations Supervisor

Requirements

Minimum Education and Experience

  • High School education
  • Completion of a Dental Assisting Program
  • 1 year of experience in a clinical dental setting preferred

Minimum Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

  • Certification for Dental Assisting in CT (DANB highly preferred)
  • Certification for Radiology (DANB highly preferred)
  • Certification of Infection Control (DANB highly preferred)

Minimum Skills and Abilities

  • Strong clinical skills and knowledge of dental practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Compassionate and patient-centered approach to care.
  • Proficient in electronic health record (EHR) systems with working knowledge of MS Office
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.


Salary Description
$21.50 - $23/hour
