Primary purpose: 

Supports project management for a large federal-government contract. Works with the Program Manager, Task Leads, and the client to plan and manage work across the task. Drives scope, team, schedule, budget, and quality aspects to achieve project objectives and deliverables.


A successful candidate will do the following:

  • Manage projects according to industry best practices
  • Act as a task-management and tracking expert
  • Communicate effectively with clients, management, and staff
  • Work with project team to identify risks and develop mitigation strategies
  • Juggle competing demands and prioritize work effectively
  • Organize, direct, and coordinate the planning and production of contract delivery with assistance from Task Lead
  • Facilitate cross-functional coordination and issue resolution when ServiceNow requests require support from technical subject-matter experts, developers, program teams, vendors, or client stakeholders
  • Develop and maintain standard operating procedures, knowledge-management resources, help-desk workflows, and reporting dashboards
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Arts or Science degree
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
  • Nine or more years of experience managing mid- to large-scale projects
  • Experience managing government contracts for consulting services in Health IT/informatics, public health informatics, healthcare, or another technical field 
  • Experience leading or coordinating technical support, help desk, service-management, or ServiceNow implementation activities within a complex project environment 
  • Experience developing and managing operational workflows, escalation processes, service-level expectations, and performance metrics 
  • Experience coordinating issue resolution across technical, operational, and client-facing teams 
  • Experience managing various project types, including complex software-engineering projects
  • Knowledge of SAFe Agile methodology 
  • Experience with Jira
  • Excellent spoken and written communication skills
  • Experience with public health, healthcare systems, and/or Health IT projects 
  • Ability to work within a challenging environment across multiple, diverse teams
  • If required by the project, ability to successfully complete and obtain a federal Position of Public Trust Level 5 background investigation, meet all eligibility criteria, and maintain the required clearance throughout employment

 

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience managing projects for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) or Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS)
  • Experience with CDC’s National Healthcare Safety Network (NHSN)
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Project and Excel
  • Experience working in a remote, distributed environment
  • Experience with ServiceNow or comparable IT service management (ITSM) platforms 
  • Experience supporting the implementation or operation of a ServiceNow-based help desk in a healthcare, public-health, or federal environment 
  • Knowledge of IT service management concepts, including incident/request management, ticket triage, escalation, SLAs, and knowledge management 
  • Current, completed federal Position of Public Trust background investigation
