Lead Coating Operator - 2nd Shift

Location: Lake in the Hills, IL

Compensation: $25.00 - $30.00 / hr + Shift Differential

Current Schedule: 2nd Shift- Monday–Friday, 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM


Upcoming Schedule Transition:
We are in the process of transitioning to a 12-hour day/night shift schedule by the end of the year. Employees in this role will need to be able to transition to our Night Shift rotating schedule once this shift transition is implemented. 

  • Night Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM (12-hour shifts, 3 days per week -Rotating Bi-Weekly)

Training Requirement: All new hires are required to train on 1st shift or 2nd shift for the first 30-90 days of employment before transitioning to their assigned schedule.

Overview

We are seeking a Lead Coating Operator to support our Coating department by operating coating equipment, maintaining quality standards, and providing leadership and direction to the team. This role combines hands-on production responsibilities with team coordination to ensure safety, efficiency, and high-quality output.


What You'll Do

  • Perform all duties of a Machine Operator III.
  • Lead and support operators to ensure safe, efficient production.
  • Train and cross-train team members on equipment and processes.
  • Oversee job setup and verify correct materials and mixes.
  • Monitor production quality and make necessary adjustments.
  • Record and report shift data, including quality and downtime.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
  • Prepare PTFE mixes accurately and on time.
  • Foster a positive, team-focused environment.
  • Ensure ERP inventory transactions are completed correctly.
  • Rotate workstations as needed.
  • Lead training efforts and drive continuous improvement.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What You'll Bring

  • 2+ years of manufacturing or production experience required 
  • Previous lead, trainer, or supervisory experience required 
  • Coating or converting experience a plus- we will train the right person 
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs (or team-lift up to 100 lbs)
  • Basic computer skills and ability to learn internal systems
  • Willingness to obtain forklift certification
