Requirements
  • Design and grow the HBC strategy in collaboration with the private and public sector entities.
  • Work with HBC and the Indy Chamber’s Business Services’ leadership to determine key performance indicators and implement effective systems and programming to attain those indicators.
  • Track HBC performance targets, metrics and milestones in accordance with funders and established metrics. 
  • Monitor Hispanic-owned business needs to identify programs, services and resources to meet those needs. Connect those businesses to internal and external resources and/or develop programming to meet their needs. 
  • Direct Hispanic-owned businesses to Indy Chamber, Entrepreneur Services, BOI, and other partnering organizations’ resources best suited to address the client’s business needs. 
  • Assist Membership team with selling memberships to Hispanic-owned businesses
  • Evaluate and adapt HBC programming to ensure quality and excellence.
  • Collaborate with marketing and communications team to develop internal and external communications plan for HBC programs, services, advocacy and other organizational announcements.
  • Collaborate with the finance department and Director of Grants, to ensure all programs and services provided are delivered within budget and follow all grant audit requirements.
  • Create and submit quarterly and annual reports to key stakeholders and funders.
  • Identify and cultivate relationships with corporate funding prospects that result in HBC funding support. 
  • Serve as liaison to the HBC board, volunteers, event committees, alumni, partnering organizations, and funders.
  • Work, where possible, to create synergies between Hispanic and Latino serving organizations. 
  • Lead development efforts, including grant writing, program development, and communications for Indy Chamber/HBC programs (e.g., Conexion).
  • Other duties as assigned by Chief Membership Officer. 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree or certification in communications, law, or business is desirable.
  • A minimum of 3 years of working experience as a small business owner, an independent contractor or consultant or a manager or supervisor of a department in a corporation or non-profit organization.

Preferred Competencies

  • Ability to relate to targeted clientele in a culturally competent way.
  • Proficient in speaking, writing, and reading Spanish and English.
  • Requires strong person-to-person and group communication/presentation skills.
  • Excellent time management, organizational and verbal/written communication skills; ability to work without close supervision.
  • Requires strong Microsoft Office software skills.
