We are a dynamic and rapidly growing company in search of experienced Lead or Senior level Protection & Controls/ Relay Technicians to join our team in supporting a wide range of Brownfield Substation projects throughout a 3-4 State area.
Key Responsibilities:
- Required protective relay testing (utilizing Enoserv RTS software).
- Uploading and downloading (as-left settings) and test results of relays and meters.
- Make manual setting adjustments and verifications of electro-mechanical relays.
- Assist Start-Up Coordinator/Commissioning Engineer with technical job functions such as current/voltage loop checks.
- Relay panel point-to-point wiring checks, functional checks, alarm verifications and other testing involved in substation control systems.
- Set-up/coordination of SCADA, station annunciator and network communication devices.
- Assist The Start-Up Coordinator/Commissioning Engineer.
- Assist Start-Up Coordinator in technical oversight and documentation plans.
- Assist Start-Up Coordinator with documentation uploads (ProjectWise) and completion/turnover of project work binder.
- Actively involved (hands-on) during complete testing and final checkout with Start-Up Coordinator and Commissioning Engineer.
- Able to assume the lead in the absence of the Start-Up Coordinator.
- Able to assume the lead role on projects.

Required Qualifications:
- Must have a strong understanding of Transmission & Distribution level Protective Relay testing & testing schemes and exhibit advanced knowledge of electrical industry standards.
- Strong Leadership skills: Requires excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong Attention to Safety.
- Strong Analytical, Problem-solving, and Troubleshooting skills.
- Must be advanced (have track record/ expertise) in the use of electrical testing equipment and tools: Including proficiency utilizing a Doble 6150 set.
Additional Qualifications:
- Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, Electrical Power & Controls, or equivalent (Preferred but not required).
- Level III/IV NETA or NICET Certification (Preferred but not required).
- Applicable Experience may be substituted for the degree requirement.

Duration: Long-term- 10+ years
Pay-rate: $65-105/hr. (Based Upon level of Expertise)
Schedule: 5-10’s Mon-Fri (w/ additional overtime)
Overtime: Yes, 1.5 on all O/T hours, 2.0 on Sundays
Per Diem: Yes, $150/day x 7 days per week
Company Vehicle: Yes, Company Truck + gas card provided.
R&R: Yes, Paid trips home every 3 weeks
- Up to $400 travel reimbursement, This includes plane tickets, rental cars, and/ or mileage allowance, etc. (for R&R trips).
- Up to four (4) hours paid time on Friday and four (4) hours paid time on Monday during the travel period (for R&R trips).
Mob/ Demob: Yes, $400 Each way plus up to 12 hours paid time for travel.
