Position Overview & General Responsibilities:
At Sunnyside Retirement Community, we’re seeking compassionate and dedicated Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) to join our dynamic healthcare team! As a CNA, you’ll be at the heart of providing person-centered care and building meaningful relationships with residents daily. Whether you're assisting with activities of daily living—such as grooming, bathing, dining, or mobility—or interacting with residents and their loved ones, your role will be vital in enhancing the lives of our residents, families, and loved ones. - Shift Differentials: +$2.00/hr for evening hours (3pm-11pm) and +$2.50/hr for night-time hours (11pm-7am). +$3.00/hr when working on Saturday and Sunday (in addition to evening/ or night shift differential).

- Must have completed 120-hour certification courses in Geriatric Nursing or is presently enrolled.
- Must have passed Virginia NACEP test after completion of 120-hour certification course.
- Must have current Nursing Assistant license through Virginia Board of Nursing.
- Must have CPR certification or ability to obtain.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work with confidential information and maintain its integrity.
- Ability to multi-task while maintaining attention to detail and have good organizational skills.
- Ability to work in potentially stressful situations, & respond accordingly to medical emergencies.
- Ability to process information accurately, make appropriate decisions and take appropriate action based upon the information available.
- Strong customer service skills; maintain a hospitality approach to engaging with all individuals.

Physical and Environmental Considerations:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee is frequently required to stand for long periods of time. Additionally, employees will routinely sit, stand, reach, lift, bend, kneel, stoop, climb, push and pull items weighing 60 lbs or less and occasionally more than 60 lbs. The position requires manual dexterity; auditory and visual skills; and the ability to follow written and oral instructions and procedures. Employees may come into contact with body fluids and infection control practices are required. Operate patient care equipment such as, but not limited to, electric and manual high/low hospital bed, wheelchair, mechanical lifts, scales, etc. Minimal hazards if required Universal Precautions are followed. Employees must meet all training requirements as required by Federal and State regulations, and by Sunnyside.
