POSITION DESCRIPTION:
We are seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic Group Exercise Instructor to lead engaging fitness classes and promote a healthy lifestyle within our community. The ideal candidate will have a passion for fitness, excellent communication skills, and the ability to motivate participants of all fitness levels.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Plan and deliver a variety of group exercise classes, including but not limited to aerobics, yoga, pilates, and strength training.
- Create a positive and inclusive environment that encourages participation and fosters community.
- Provide modifications and progressions to accommodate participants' varying fitness levels and abilities.
- Monitor participants' form and technique to ensure safety and effectiveness during workouts.
- Maintain a high level of professionalism and enthusiasm during classes.
- Stay updated on fitness trends and continuously enhance personal knowledge and skills.
- Promote classes and engage with participants to build a loyal following.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Must be certified in PR/CPR, AED, O2, and First Aid. (Training provided by the Y, if needed)
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- High School education or equivalent preferred.
- 6 months or 60 hours of practical experience of group exercise class experience.
- Must be able to lift in excess of ten pounds.
- Certification in group exercise instruction from a recognized organization (e.g., ACE, AFAA, NASM).
- Strong knowledge of exercise techniques and principles.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to motivate and inspire individuals in a group setting.
- Experience in leading group fitness classes preferred.
