Description

  Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Be available to make necessary decisions in the absence of the Human Resources Director.
  • Be available to the Human Resources Director in providing support, such as attending meetings, working with staff on problems and concerns, and making suggestions for improvement.
  • Conduct interviews in the absence of the Human Resources Director.
  • Assist with training of new staff in the Human Resources department.
  • Manages the Human Resources Information System (HRIS).
  • Maintain a list of all open positions, ensuring that all open positions are posted on our HRIS.
  • Oversee the hiring process of all potential employees (background checks, references, schedule interviews, drug screening, ID badges & door access cards) and ensure all new hire paperwork is completed in a timely manner.
  • Submit Child Abuse and Neglect (CAN) checks on all Children’s Services and D/ID staff.
  • Process all transfer and status changes, as well as degree and licensure salary increases, ensuring all necessary follow-up actions are completed.
  • Process unemployment claims and complete necessary paperwork.
  • Manages the licenses and credentials of all new and current employees.
  • Process American Medical Association (AMA) and National Practitioner Data Bank (NPDB) checks on all physicians, physician assistants and nurse practitioners.
  • Administers health/benefit plans including enrollments, changes and terminations. 
  • Processes required insurance documents through our benefits portal to ensure accurate record keeping and proper deductions.
  • Maintain Contract/Volunteer/Student database and files.
  • Maintain the driver’s insurance list and complete driving record checks annually or as needed.
  • Process requested verifications of employment.
  • Maintain compliance with all program audits and related requirements, including the processing of Administrative Office of the Courts (AOC) background checks and the Child Abuse and Neglect (CAN) checks.
  • Complete quarterly reports for professional staff meetings.
  • Performs customer service functions by answering employee requests and questions.
  • Sit in on and transcribe notes taken during employee meeting with the Human Resources Director.
  • Perform random drug screenings regularly or as needed.
  • Assist current/prospective employees with any/all personnel issues.
  • Makes photocopies, faxes documents and performs other clerical functions.
  • Assists or prepares correspondence and processes mail.
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Other duties may be assigned as needed.
Requirements

Qualifications Include: BA/BS or High School Diploma or GED with 5 years experience; Computer and typing skills; Organization skills; Submitting to and passing successfully a criminal records check and a drug screening test.

        

Hours: Monday through Friday, 8:00 am until 4:30 pm. Different hours may be required with the job or may be adjusted by Supervisor.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

  • The physical demands required to successfully perform this job include being able to push, pull, bend, stoop, stand, walk and lift up to 20 pounds. Reasonable accommodations will be made to enable the individual with disabilities to perform these essential functions.
  • The employee will normally work indoors at the Corbin Regional Office but may on occasion be required to work outside or at another location. The noise level in the work environment is mild to moderate.
  • The position may require duties to include routine or reasonably anticipated tasks or procedures where there is a degree of actual or potential exposure to blood or other infectious materials.
  • Hours of work are structured 7.5 or 8.0 hour blocks of time but may be subject to irregular and/or flexible hours based on needs or demands.
  • Participation in annual training regarding infection control and safety in the environment including hazardous waste and blood borne pathogens will be required.
  • All new staff must attend training regarding handling physical, verbal threats, acts of violence or other escalating and potential dangerous situations including when police need to be summoned.

         

Required Job Performance:

  • Successful Performance Evaluation on an annual basis. A Performance Improvement Plan will be initiated on all employees who have a negative performance evaluation. An employee will be terminated if the Performance Improvement Plan is viewed as unsuccessful after 2 attempts.
