General Purpose of the Position:
The DDP Technical Specialist serves as the primary technical authority for all matters related to Diamond Dot Paper (DDP) materials at the manufacturing site and across the customer base. This role supports product development, customer trials, troubleshooting, process optimization, and ongoing commercial use of DDP.
Job Summary:
The Technical Sales Engineer will drive revenue by positioning Diamond Dot Paper (DDP) coated materials as the premier insulation solution for liquid-filled and dry-type transformers. You will bridge the gap between customer engineering requirements and our product capabilities, ensuring that the chosen insulation meets critical safety and performance standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Technical Consultation: Collaborate with transformer designers to specify DDP coating patterns and thicknesses that optimize dielectric strength and thermal dissipation.
- Solution Positioning: Demonstrate how DDP coatings provide superior bonding during the curing process compared to traditional alternatives, preventing coil shifting during short-circuit events.
- Proposal Development: Create detailed techno-commercial proposals, including ROI analysis on reduced curing times and improved transformer reliability.
- Drive innovation: Analyzing material deficiencies and map out high-value feature requirements for future product roadmaps.
- Market Education: Conduct technical presentations and assist sales teams to inform and educate customers and operators.
- Manufacturing Support: Provide support to the coating operators to ensure the product is produced with best in class processes and performance
- Customer Support: Troubleshoot application issues during the transformer manufacturing process, such as coating adhesion or curing cycles.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Materials Science.
- Experience: 3–5+ years in technical sales or application engineering, specifically within the power transformer or electrical insulation industry preferred.
- Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of transformer winding insulation, resins, and epoxy curing chemistry.
- Travel: Ability to travel 30%–50% to visit customer manufacturing sites and attend industry conferences.
- Familiarity with CRM tools and ERP systems preferred.
