Salon Assistant
Description

Position Summary:

The Salon Assistant is responsible for assisting the Salon Director around the salon with the daily tasks, providing a multitude of hair services, manicures and pedicures to the residents in the community. 

 

Essential Functions:

  • Gathering supplies 
  • Helping with color formulation 
  • Shampooing and conditioning residents hair 
  • Blow-drying residents 
  • Give residents manicures 
  • Give residents pedicures 
  • Sweeping salon floor 
  • Cleaning and maintaining salon’s appearance 
  • Sterilizing tools 
  • Helping prepare residents for service 
  • Ensuring residents are comfortable, offering beverages and something to read 
  • Greeting and scheduling appointments 
  • The ability to work in a safe and alert manner 
  • The ability to take ownership for associate’s safety and the safety of the residents • Must disclose any medication that might impair associate’s ability to perform the job safely or competently 
  • Maintains professional decorum at all times 

 

Non-Essential Functions:

  • Leads by example exhibiting the CORE Values through servant leadership  
  • Encourages teamwork and promotes company philosophy 
  • Attends required community meetings and participates in Life Enrichment activities when able. 
  • Completes all required courses in adherence with HRA University 
  • Is prompt and able to perform the required duties of the position on a regular, predictable basis 
  • Become familiar and understands how to report a missing person using the Safe Return program or equivalent 
  • Become familiar and understands the steps for fire evacuation 
  • All associates are responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for all community residents 


Requirements

Qualifications/Skills/Educational Requirements:

  • Must have a high school or GED education. 
  • Experience working with seniors, individuals not physically well and those with mental incapacity ranging up to serve in nature required  
  • Must have knowledge of how chemicals used in hair care affect senior citizens’ hair. 
  • Ability to perform independently and exercise good judgement.
