Superior Rigging & Erecting is seeking an experienced Site Safety Coordinator to support our structural steel operations in Orlando.
This is a hands-on, field-based safety position for someone who understands active construction environments and can work effectively with project managers, superintendents, foremen, and field employees.
You will spend your time in the field identifying hazards, reinforcing safe work practices, supporting regulatory compliance, and helping ensure work is performed safely and according to company expectations.

About This Opportunity
The Site Safety Coordinator will provide daily safety support for structural steel construction activities in the Orlando area.
This is not an office-based compliance position. The successful candidate must be visible in the field, build credibility with employees and supervisors, recognize hazards, communicate expectations clearly, and follow through until corrective actions are completed.
The position requires someone who can balance employee coaching and relationship-building with the confidence to address unsafe conditions or behaviors immediately.
Position Summary
The Site Safety Coordinator is responsible for supporting the implementation of company safety policies, project safety requirements, and applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
This position works closely with field leadership and employees to conduct inspections, support training, maintain required documentation, assist with incident response, and reinforce a proactive safety culture throughout daily operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain a consistent safety presence throughout active work areas
- Conduct regular job-site inspections, observations, and safety audits
- Monitor structural steel erection activities for compliance with company requirements and applicable regulations
- Identify unsafe conditions, work practices, and behaviors and coordinate timely corrective action
- Support daily pre-task planning, job hazard analyses, toolbox talks, and safety meetings
- Verify compliance with personal protective equipment and fall-protection requirements
- Monitor the safe use of aerial lifts, scaffolds, ladders, tools, equipment, cranes, and rigging systems
- Assist with new-hire and site-specific safety orientations
- Provide coaching and safety guidance to employees, foremen, and supervisors
- Reinforce company safety policies and site-specific safety expectations
- Stop or escalate work when an immediate or serious safety hazard is identified
- Assist with incident, injury, near-miss, property-damage, and environmental investigations
- Help identify root causes and track corrective actions through completion
- Maintain inspection reports, training records, safety documentation, and other required records
- Support emergency-response planning and coordination
- Participating in project and safety meetings as required
- Communicate safety concerns, trends, and unresolved issues to appropriate leadership
- Partner with operations to improve safety performance without unnecessarily disrupting field productivity
- Perform other safety-related responsibilities as assigned
- Previous construction safety experience required
- Experience supporting structural steel erection, steel construction, or similar high-risk field operations strongly preferred
- Working knowledge of OSHA construction standards and recognized construction safety practices
- Knowledge of fall protection, elevated work, aerial lifts, scaffolds, cranes, rigging, and material handling preferred
- Ability to identify hazards and recommend practical corrective actions
- Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with employees at all organizational levels
- Willingness to address unsafe conditions and behaviors directly
- Strong organization, documentation, and follow-through
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment
- Ability to work independently while remaining accountable to project and safety leadership
- Basic computer proficiency, including email, electronic documentation, and Microsoft Office applications
- OSHA 30-Hour Construction certification preferred
- First Aid and CPR certification preferred
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record required
Work Requirements
- Full-time, field-based position
- Immediate availability preferred
- Ability to work outdoors in changing weather conditions
- Ability to walk and stand for extended periods throughout an active construction site
- Ability to climb stairs and ladders and access elevated or uneven work areas
- Ability to wear required personal protective equipment
- Ability to work around cranes, heavy equipment, structural steel, vehicles, and active construction operations
- Availability to work early mornings, extended hours, or weekends when required by operations
- Regular and reliable attendance is required
