Summit Bodyworks, a premier builder of tool trucks, mobile libraries, moving trucks and other specialty vehicles has an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Welder. Every truck we build is customized from the chassis up; we build our vehicles to suit the needs and desires of our diverse customer base. As part of our team you will perform metal fabrication and welding functions.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Construct and manufacture metals parts and products using various welding techniques.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics and engineering drawings.
- Perform quality inspections to ensure welds meet specification and standards.
- Complete understanding of fixture welding and requirements for set-up & changes needed to complete the task.
- Ability to fabricate any item required to complete an assigned task.
- Use hand tools, power tools and measuring instruments to complete tasks.
- Maintain and repair welders and other large tools used in the fabrication department.
- Full understanding of what material is being welded and identify what weld process will be suitable for part/material.
- Collaborate with team members to plan and prioritize work assignments.
- Other duties as assigned by the manager.
Requirements
WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL ABILITIES:
- Frequent mobility and/or sitting, standing, bending or stooping for prolonged/extended periods
- Requires lifting up to 50 pounds frequently
- Requires lifting up to 75 pounds occasionally
- Requires eye-hand coordination sufficient to operate machinery
- Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting, manual and finger dexterity
- Requires working under stressful conditions or working irregular hours
- Requires working in a fast-paced environment
- Requires a normal range of hearing and vision
- Must understand vague and implicit instructions and react favorably in all work situations
- Must be able to communicate providing verbal feedback in a professional manner
REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Valid Driver's License and MVR in good standing.
- Ability to pass structural weld inspection
- Knowledge of steel and aluminum fabrication techniques
- Experience in machine operations in a manufacturing environment (preferred)
- Ability to use various power and hand tools
- Ability to read blueprints
- Ability to successfully complete a General Abilities Assessment and pass a Post-offer background check, physical and drug screening

- Type: Hourly
- Compensation Range: $22.00 - $26.00
- Bonus Eligibility: No
- Shift: 4 days a week, 10 hour days
