How you will make an impact as a Staff Accountant:
- Perform monthly closing procedures, including preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules
- Work closely with other departments to accurately record entries for accounting topics such as cash, inventory, and fixed assets. Create and maintain related supporting schedules.
- Administer the expense reporting and recording process for employee reimbursable and credit card expenses
- Review and provide insight on monthly financial results to assist in the preparation and monitoring of financial results, including variances from budget and forecast
- Assist with annual financial audit preparation
What we're looking for in a Staff Accountant:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance or 2+ years of relevant accounting or finance experience required.
- Understanding of GAAP principles
- Basic knowledge or experience with accounting functions such as cash, accounts payable, fixed assets, journal entries, and financial statements
- Eagerness to learn and grow, with a proactive approach to developing accounting knowledge and skills
- Advanced Excel skills, including ability to create pivot tables, macros, and use of other advanced formulas and functions
- High attention to detail, solid critical thinking, problem-solving and analytical skills, and the ability to work independently to assess available information, draw conclusions and understandings, and present such conclusions effectively
- Solid organization skills and the ability to prioritize and stay focused on assigned priorities, work independently to meet internal and external deadlines, and produce a consistently high-quality product
