Position Summary

The Marketing Development Representative is responsible for developing, strengthening, and maintaining relationships with referring providers and their teams while identifying new opportunities to grow the practice’s referral network.


This position serves as a key representative of the practice within the dental and medical community and works closely with practice leadership, doctors, Allied OMS, and referral partners to develop and execute marketing strategies that increase brand awareness, strengthen referral relationships, and drive sustainable practice growth.


The Marketing Development Representative combines relationship development, outside marketing, community outreach, event coordination, and data-driven marketing strategies to support the continued growth of the practice.

MARKETING & BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop and execute strategic marketing and referral development programs designed to increase practice growth.

• Build and maintain strong relationships with existing referring doctors and their teams.

• Identify, prospect, and develop relationships with new referring offices and potential referral partners.

• Conduct regular one-on-one marketing visits with referring doctors and their teams.

• Maintain consistent communication and engagement with top referral sources.

• Develop strategies to re-engage referral offices that have experienced declining or inactive referral activity.

• Coordinate and manage lunch-and-learns, educational programs, study clubs, and other referral development activities.

• Plan and participate in community outreach, networking opportunities, and professional events that promote the practice.

• Educate referring offices regarding the practice’s services, doctors, technology, and treatment capabilities.

• Identify opportunities to help referring practices better understand how the practice can support their patients and complement the services they provide.

• Develop and implement targeted marketing plans for new doctors joining the practice, including identifying potential referral relationships and new business opportunities.

• Work with doctors and practice leadership to establish marketing priorities and growth strategies.

• Meet regularly with practice leadership to discuss referral trends, marketing opportunities, concerns, and growth initiatives.

• Work with Allied OMS on marketing initiatives, resources, campaigns, and new programs.

• Coordinate with outside sales representatives, vendors, and community partners on appropriate marketing opportunities.

• Represent the practice professionally at referral offices, community events, meetings, and professional functions.


MARKETING OPERATIONS & STRATEGY

• Develop and maintain an organized referral marketing schedule and territory plan.

• Track referral activity, marketing visits, opportunities, and follow-up activities.

• Monitor referral trends and identify opportunities for growth.

• Maintain marketing reports and spreadsheets used to measure referral activity and practice growth.

• Provide regular reporting to practice leadership regarding marketing activities, referral trends, opportunities, and results.

• Use practice management reporting and referral data to identify trends and measure the effectiveness of marketing initiatives.

• Develop strategies designed to increase new patient referrals, production, and overall practice growth.

• Assist with establishing measurable marketing goals and monitor progress toward those goals.

• Manage and coordinate marketing materials used by the practice and referring offices.

• Assist with social media marketing, the practice website, online presence, search engine visibility, and online reviews as appropriate.

• Coordinate internal and external communications related to marketing initiatives.

• Create presentations and materials for marketing, referral, and staff training purposes.

• Coordinate educational meetings, referral events, and practice-sponsored events.

• Organize and deliver appropriate surgical materials, educational resources, and other items to referring offices.

• Train and educate practice staff on referral relationship strategies and the importance of providing an exceptional experience to referring offices and patients.


RELATIONSHIP MANAGEMENT & PRACTICE SUPPORT

• Serve as a primary point of contact for referral relationship and community outreach activities.

• Respond professionally and promptly to concerns or feedback received from referring offices.

• Work with practice leadership to resolve referral relationship concerns and identify opportunities to improve the referral experience.

• Communicate feedback from referring offices to doctors and practice leadership when appropriate.

• Develop strong working relationships with doctors, practice managers, team members, referring offices, and Allied OMS marketing resources.

• Promote a consistent and professional brand experience throughout all marketing and referral interactions.

• Support internal team-building and morale activities that strengthen practice culture and employee engagement.

• Perform other marketing and business development duties as assigned.

WORKING CONDITIONS / PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Regular local travel to referring offices, community events, and practice locations.

• Sitting, standing, and walking for extended periods.

• Ability to operate standard office equipment and computer software.

• Hand dexterity and typing skills necessary to work with standard software programs.

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

• Ability to organize schedules, territories, marketing activities, and follow-up responsibilities.

• Ability to maintain productivity and professionalism in a fast-paced environment.

• Ability to read, understand, and communicate information contained in work-related documents and reports.


EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in marketing, business development, sales, healthcare, dental, or a related field preferred.

• Experience in a medical, dental, oral surgery, or healthcare environment is preferred but not required.

• Experience developing professional relationships, managing referral accounts, outside sales, or business-to-business marketing is strongly preferred.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel and PowerPoint, and the ability to learn practice management and marketing systems.

• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required for local travel.
