Internship/Externship Summary
The Testing/Assessment Track is an advanced doctoral externship designed for trainees seeking intensive experience in comprehensive psychological assessment. This specialized training program provides extensive exposure to psychological, neuropsychological, psychoeducational, developmental, and autism evaluations while integrating trainees into a collaborative multidisciplinary practice.
Working alongside licensed psychologists and neuropsychologists, trainees develop competency in diagnostic interviewing, test administration, interpretation, integrated report writing, feedback, educational consultation, and multidisciplinary collaboration.
The majority of direct clinical experience is devoted to comprehensive evaluations. Trainees may maintain a limited psychotherapy caseload (no more than approximately 20% of their direct clinical time) to strengthen diagnostic interviewing skills and reinforce the connection between assessment findings and treatment planning.
Trainees receive intensive supervision and mentorship while providing neuropsychological testing services to individuals presenting with anxiety, OCD, mood disorders, ADHD, autism spectrum disorder (ASD), disruptive behavior disorders, learning differences, and other developmental, behavioral, and emotional concerns.
This track is ideal for trainees pursuing careers in pediatric psychology, school psychology, neuropsychology, psychological assessment, or integrated behavioral health.
