Position Summary
As the General Manager at Moneygun, you are responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of Moneygun and Sunnygun. You embody the perfect balance of fun and focus, loving a party as much as a P&L statement while prioritizing authentic hospitality above all else. Your leadership creates a culture of growth and respect, strengthens our brand identity, drives revenue, and consistently exceeds guest expectations. We trust our leaders to lead, with the training, resources, and support of one of Chicago’s leading hospitality groups behind you.
Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Leadership
- Organize, plan, and prioritize each day to ensure the team is prepared to exceed guest expectations.
- Be the gold standard for hospitality, maintaining a consistent presence on the floor during service, interacting with guests, and setting the tone for service excellence.
- Oversee managers and leads, providing direction, coaching, and performance management while maintaining consistent standards for accountability, growth, and development.
- Lead the recruitment, selection, training, and development of a talented and passionate team across both concepts, building on our culture of warmth and inclusivity.
- Serve as a role model for the team through teamwork, attention to detail, accountability, enthusiasm, and kindness.
- Respond promptly to employee relations matters and managerial de-escalation requests, partnering with HR as appropriate.
Financials
- Maintain a complete understanding of P&L statements and KPIs, proactively adjusting operations to meet budgets and account for seasonal changes in business.
- Manage schedules to maximize efficiency and minimize unnecessary overtime.
- Develop strategies to optimize profitability and identify opportunities for revenue growth.
- Partner with the Private Events and Partnerships teams to create profitable events and activations that maintain the brand integrity of both concepts.
Operational Excellence
- Oversee daily administrative and operational functions, including scheduling, payroll, menu and SOP updates, POS programming, ordering, cash handling, and opening and closing procedures.
- Maintain prompt and consistent communication across departments and operational platforms.
- Partner with the kitchen team to maintain strong communication between front and back of house and ensure daily service is executed precisely.
- Ensure bar operations adhere to established SOPs and effective inventory controls to maintain quality, efficiency, product availability, and minimize waste.
- Actively participate in service, build relationships with regular and industry guests, and take ownership of escalated guest concerns.
- Oversee security operations and ensure the safety of guests and employees.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable health and safety regulations.
About You:
- You have 3+ years of management experience in a busy, fast-paced bar environment, ideally with a strong cocktail focus, with demonstrated success leading teams and overseeing operations.
- Genuine passion for delivering exceptional service and creating memorable experiences for guests and team members alike.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to work effectively across teams.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities, including mentoring team members and fostering a positive workplace culture aligned with company values.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness, organization, and health and safety standards.
- In-depth knowledge of beverage trends, including beer, wine, spirits, cocktails, and non-alcoholic options.
- Strong understanding of beverage costing, pricing strategies, and inventory management principles.
- Awareness and appreciation for nightlife culture, music, art, and current trends.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule based on business needs, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, move throughout the venue, and perform the physical requirements of the position, including bending and reaching, with or without reasonable accommodation.

- Job Type: Full-time, Exempt
- Compensation: $95k - $105k + Quarterly Bonus
