Studio Lead and Branch Manager
Description

At Jackola Engineering & Architecture, meaningful work begins with talented people working together to solve problems, serve communities, and support one another. We are looking for an experienced and approachable leader to guide our Vancouver studio as Studio Lead and Branch Manager.

This role offers the opportunity to lead a talented, multidisciplinary team, support employees in their professional growth, strengthen client and community relationships, and help shape the future of our work throughout the region.

If you enjoy bringing people together, developing strong teams, building meaningful connections, and creating an environment where both employees and projects can succeed, we would be glad to meet you.

What You'll Do:

As the leader of our Vancouver studio, you will provide thoughtful direction and day-to-day support for both people and projects. You will work closely with employees, project managers, supervising professionals, and company leadership to support the continued success and growth of the branch.

Leadership and Team Development

  • Lead, mentor, and support a multidisciplinary team of architects, engineers, and design professionals.
  • Build a positive, collaborative, and accountable studio environment where employees feel supported and valued.
  • Encourage professional growth through coaching, training, and development opportunities.
  • Lead weekly planning and coordination meetings to keep projects, priorities, and resources aligned.
  • Promote open communication and help the team work through challenges constructively.

Operations and Project Success

  • Oversee daily branch operations and support the successful delivery of projects.
  • Coordinate workloads, staffing needs, and resources to support project success and employee well-being.
  • Partner with project managers and supervising professionals to maintain quality, profitability, and client satisfaction.
  • Assist with project planning, fee development, contracts, and project kickoffs.
  • Provide guidance and practical support when operational, project, or technical challenges arise.

Business Development and Community Engagement

  • Develop and strengthen relationships with clients, business partners, and community organizations.
  • Serve as a visible and trusted representative of Jackola in the Vancouver community.
  • Support local marketing and outreach efforts that build awareness and create new opportunities.
  • Help team members grow their networking and client relationship skills.
  • Collaborate with company leadership and other studio leaders on strategic growth initiatives.

What We're Looking For:

We are looking for an experienced leader who combines strong people skills with sound business judgment and operational expertise. The right person will be comfortable guiding a team, building relationships, and balancing the needs of employees, projects, clients, and the business.

Requirements

You may be a great fit if you have:

  • 10 or more years of leadership and people-management experience.
  • A bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
  • Experience managing multidisciplinary design or consulting projects.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Excellent communication, relationship-building, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience supporting teams through all phases of design and construction projects.
  • A genuine interest in mentoring others and building a strong workplace culture.
  • Confidence representing an organization in the community and developing strategic business relationships.
  • A collaborative leadership style that aligns with Jackola's values and team-centered approach.

We recognize that experience can take many forms. If this opportunity interests you and your background aligns with many, but not every, qualification listed, we still encourage you to apply.
