We are seeking an experienced FP&A & Corporate Development Manager to help support the company’s next phase of growth and become a key member of RMG’s finance leadership team.
Position Summary:
The FP&A & Corporate Development Manager will report to the VP of Finance and serve as a trusted resource for the company’s senior management team and Board of Directors. The individual will play a critical role in budgeting, forecasting, business analytics, capital investment analysis, strategic initiatives, and investor reporting activities.
The role combines traditional FP&A responsibilities with strategic finance and corporate development functions, requiring an individual that can manage several workstreams and work closely with senior leaders to provide data-driven insights that support strategic and operational decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting processes.
- Build and maintain detailed financial models for scenario planning, acquisitions, and capital projects. Produce insightful analysis to support key strategic decisions.
- Evaluate returns on growth initiatives and capital projects using IRR, ROI, and other investment metrics.
- Lead critical workstreams in any M&A process (financial modelling, valuation, due diligence, etc.) and work with the senior management team to develop a pipeline of opportunities for acquisitions and strategic partnerships. Develop business cases supporting capital allocation decisions.
- Perform valuation analysis and track performance against plan for ongoing reporting requirements
- Track and analyze KPIs and financial performance versus budget/forecast.
- Analyze costs across departments and projects to ensure accuracy, identify variances, and provide actionable detail and insights to business leaders.
- Prepare board and investor reporting packages with relevant financial insights.
- Support long-range planning and strategic initiatives
- Monitor debt covenants in forecasting.
- Work closely with accounting, operations, commercial, and executive teams to ensure financial visibility across decision-making processes.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or related field.
- 5+ years of progressive FP&A or finance experience (investment banking, lending, corporate development, transaction advisory, consulting, investing, etc.).
- Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills.
- Strong analytical mindset, attention to detail, and ability to communicate financial insights to non-financial stakeholders.
- Demonstrated experience building budgets, forecasts, and long-range planning models.
- Excellent presentation, communication, and writing abilities.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities.
- Ability to work in RMG’s headquarters in Latham, NY up to 4 days per week.
Preferred:
- Prior experience with infrastructure, transportation, logistics, or supply chain businesses.
- Proficiency with financial planning tools and ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, Adaptive Insights, or Power BI).
- Prior experience working in a private equity-backed company.
- Exposure to M&A, corporate development, or strategic finance initiatives.
