Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Buyer / Planner to support sourcing, purchasing, and demand-planning activities. This role is responsible for coordinating supplier orders, monitoring material requirements, supporting remanufactured core planning, and ensuring timely product availability. The ideal candidate has strong ERP, Excel, supplier coordination, and purchasing experience within a manufacturing or automotive-related environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Review demand forecasts and inventory requirements to support purchasing decisions.
- Plan and place purchase orders with suppliers.
- Monitor open purchase orders, delivery schedules, and supplier commitments.
- Coordinate regularly with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and products.
- Support planning activities for remanufactured cores and related inventory.
- Maintain accurate purchasing, planning, and supplier information in the ERP system.
- Identify potential shortages, delays, and supply risks and communicate them to the appropriate stakeholders.
- Work cross-functionally with sourcing, supply chain, inventory, and operations teams.
- Prepare and maintain standard operating procedures for purchasing and planning activities.
- Use Excel and AI productivity tools to analyze information, prepare reports, and improve processes.
- Support supplier performance monitoring and issue resolution.
- Travel to supplier locations approximately once per month, as required.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field.
- Around 5 years of relevant experience in purchasing, sourcing, supply planning, demand planning, or supply chain.
- Experience creating and managing purchase orders.
- Strong knowledge of ERP systems and purchasing processes.
- Advanced or strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
- Experience preparing standard operating procedures and process documentation.
- Strong planning, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent supplier coordination and follow-up abilities.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Ability to work independently and coordinate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in the automotive, manufacturing, or remanufacturing industry.
- Familiarity with remanufactured core planning and inventory management.
- Experience using AI productivity tools, including ChatGPT, to support analysis and process efficiency.
