We're looking for an experienced Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) to join our Bozeman team and play a key role in delivering high-quality surveying services throughout Montana and the surrounding region.
As part of our collaborative, full-service design team, you'll work alongside engineers, architects, planners, clients, contractors, and public agencies to support a diverse range of projects. From boundary and topographic surveys to construction staking, floodplain mapping, and land development projects, your expertise will help lay the foundation for successful project outcomes.

Travel throughout Montana and the surrounding region will be required.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently perform complex surveying tasks related to construction staking, boundary surveys, topographic surveys, and as-built surveys.
- Research historical maps, land records, title reports, deeds, and previous survey information to support project requirements.
- Complete boundary reductions, boundary determinations, and field data processing using CAD and survey software.
- Maintain and verify the accuracy of project survey data while ensuring compliance with company standards and quality expectations.
- Review survey production, processed data, field notes, and final deliverables for quality control and accuracy.
- Perform boundary surveys for residential and commercial properties, ALTA/NSPS Land Title Surveys, pre-engineering surveys, floodplain surveys, and construction staking projects.
- Support projects ranging from highways and commercial developments to high-end residential properties and other site improvements.
- Navigate applicable land use regulations, local government requirements, and potential environmental considerations.
- Contribute to business development efforts, including responding to survey service requests, preparing proposals, and building client relationships.
- Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license.
- 4+ years of professional surveying experience.
- Ability and willingness to travel throughout Montana and the surrounding region.
- Strong understanding of land surveying principles, boundary determination practices, and jurisdictional requirements.
- Ability to work independently while managing priorities and deadlines.
- Professional presence with the confidence to build relationships with clients, agencies, contractors, and colleagues.
- Montana licensure and local surveying experience preferred but not required.
- Proficiency with Trimble survey equipment, Trimble Access, and Autodesk Civil 3D.
- Experience with Trimble Business Center is beneficial.
- Experience with UAV systems is beneficial but not required.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and responsibilities simultaneously.
- Excellent attention to detail, communication skills, and commitment to quality.
