Position?Description 


The Quality Specialist serves as an internal consultant to lead, define, administer, and develop quality assurance and quality control practices designed to drive standardization and ultimately high-quality results. This position requires the ability to audit existing processes against written procedures, as well as to identify improvements to processes/procedures in an effort to continually improve the quality of our product. Solid judgment and resourcefulness is needed to effectively deal with multiple, highly variable factors and conflicting priorities of various departments and customers. The Quality Specialist interacts with all levels of the company as the Quality Management System encompasses all areas of our business. 


The Quality Specialist will also be responsible for internal process audits, the oversight and implementation of project quality plans, non-conformances, corrective and preventive actions, lessons learned, and management of policies and procedures. 


This role reports to and works under the direction of the Corporate Quality Manager, supporting broader Quality Management System initiatives owned at the senior level. 


Essential Functions 

  • Conducts internal process audits. 
  • Supports development and implementation of Quality Management Plans for projects based on corporate processes and procedures, as well as client specific requirements. 
  • Tracks, measures, and reports on progress on projects using standard, established Key Performance Indicators (KPI) 
  • Assists with enhancing quality management systems focusing on customer satisfaction, business process standardization, reliability and effectiveness. 
  • Maintain compliance with environmental and safety guidelines as well as International Quality Systems (Such as ISO) 
  • Other administrative tasks, but not limited to, as needed 


Requirements

 


Qualifications 

  • 1-5 years of operations experience in a Quality Assurance and/or Quality Control capacity. 
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 & 45001 
  • Strong practical business process skills 
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills 


Education 

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering or related field, preferred 
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 & 45001 
  • Any combination of education and/or experience that has provided the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary for acceptable job performance.

Work Environment/Physical Demands  

  • Working conditions are normal for an office environment. 
  • Frequent sitting and operating a computer. 
  • Must be able to use body members to work, move or carry objects or office materials. 
  • Must be able to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally. 
  • Physical demands requirements are at levels of those for sedentary work. 
  • Ability to travel as required for meetings with client (s), other parties, or site visits that may require overnight stay.
