Your Contribution:
The Junior Cards Operations Analyst supports the daily operations and analysis of the Credit Union’s debit and credit card programs. This role assists with transaction monitoring, dispute processing, reporting, and process improvement initiatives to ensure efficient operations, regulatory compliance, and a positive member experience. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, and eager to grow within financial services. This position is ideal for those starting a career in card operations and customer service. This is a multi-faceted position, ranging from complex problem-solving to great phone etiquette.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Support day-to-day card services operations, including debit and credit card transactions, authorizations, and settlement processes
- Serve as back up with card dispute and chargeback processing in accordance with network rules and regulatory requirements (e.g., Reg E, Reg Z)
- Monitor card activity for trends, exceptions, and potential fraud or operational concerns.
- Prepare and maintain routine reports related to card usage, losses, disputes, and operational metrics
- Assist with data analysis, reconciliations, and ad hoc reporting requests
- Support card program initiatives and projects, including product enhancements, vendor coordination, and system updates
- Work with cross-functional teams, such as accounting, lending, risk management, and front line to resolve issues and streamline processes.
- Respond to internal inquiries from branches, contact center staff, and back-office teams regarding card services
- Provide training to front office staff periodically on card services related topics
- Investigate and resolve issues related to card transactions, account discrepancies, and chargebacks, ensuring a timely and customer-focused resolution.
- Help document procedures and identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiencies
- Ensure compliance with Credit Union policies, card network rules, and applicable laws and regulations
- Perform other related duties as assigned s related to dispute management

- High School’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 0 to 2 years of experience in card services, credit card operations, or financial services industry, with a focus on credit/debit card products fraud prevention.
- Credit Union or banking experience preferred.
- Understanding of Visa rules, regulations, and compliance requirements including Reg E/Reg Z.
- Understanding of card network authorizations, fraud preventions systems preferred.
- Proficiency in card processing systems and software, as well as dispute management platforms.
- Bilingual with proficiency in English and Spanish is a plus.
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
- Physical requirements: Must be able to sit for extended periods of time, use the computer and telephone to complete work, and lift up to 30 pounds at times.
