Description

We are seeking a motivated Outside Service Representative to maintain existing business relationships and develop new relationships to expand our service business. In this position you be representing Freightliner and Western Star.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with assigned customers through consistent communication, scheduled visits, and dependable follow-up.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact between assigned customers and Transwest service locations.
  • Regularly visit customers within the assigned territory to understand their operations, equipment, service needs, and upcoming repair opportunities.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities while expanding service, parts, sublet, and miscellaneous sales within the existing customer base.
  • Maintain regular contact with major accounts and follow up on customer requests within 48 hours.
  • Coordinate with service managers, advisors, parts departments, mobile service, and other internal teams to ensure customer needs are handled efficiently.
  • Assist customers with scheduling repairs, obtaining updates, resolving service concerns, and identifying the most appropriate Transwest location or service option.
  • Monitor open customer issues and remain involved until an acceptable resolution has been reached.
  • Review customer activity and performance reports to identify sales trends, lost business, inactive accounts, and growth opportunities.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of customer contacts, visits, opportunities, concerns, and follow-up commitments.
  • Promote Transwest’s full range of products and services, including shop repairs, mobile service, preventive maintenance, parts, inspections, and other available solutions.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of Transwest capabilities, OEM programs, vendor products, warranty processes, and fleet service solutions.
  • Partner with operational leaders to ensure customer commitments are realistic, clearly communicated, and successfully completed.
  • Support customer retention by proactively addressing concerns and ensuring customers receive consistent, professional service.
  • Meet established individual and regional sales, customer contact, retention, and growth goals.
  • Represent Transwest professionally during customer visits, meetings, industry events, and other business activities.
  • Travel regularly throughout the assigned territory while managing travel and customer entertainment expenses within the approved budget.
  • Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.
Requirements

WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL ABILITIES:

  • Activities require a full range of motion including handling, lifting, manual dexterity, finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination.
  • Position requires standing, balancing, bending or stooping for prolonged periods of time.
  • Position requires the occasional ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 45 pounds.
  • Position requires corrected vision and hearing within normal range.
  • Must be able to regularly get in and out of vehicle's.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid Driver's License and MVR in good standing.
  • Ability to obtain a CDL within 90 days.
  • Ability to work independently and with a group.
  • Ability to travel.
  • Proven ability to develop relationships and close sales.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Detail-Oriented
  • Ability to successfully complete a general abilities assessment and pass a post-offer background check, physical and drug screening.

PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

  • Truck and/or mechanical experience or knowledge is preferred.
