Cherokee Town & Country Club, one of America’s premier private clubs, is seeking a Banquet Houseman to join our Banquets team.

The Banquet Houseman assists with the set-up and tear-down of banquet spaces and buffets throughout the Club. From weddings and meetings to parties and special events, this role helps ensure each space is properly prepared, organized, and maintained according to guest expectations and the Cherokee Standard.

More Than Set-Up & Tear-Down — You'll support banquet operations through event preparation, room resets, organization, cleaning, inventory, and food service assistance when needed.

What You’ll Do

• Prepare for banquet events by setting up and taking down tables, chairs, linens, and other event equipment.
• Set up banquet rooms for weddings, meetings, parties, and other events.
• Ensure banquet rooms are arranged according to guest expectations and the Cherokee Standard.
• Serve or assist in serving food items as needed.
• Clean and organize banquet rooms, hallways, storage areas, and service areas.
• Inventory and care for banquet supplies.
• Refresh rooms and maintain cleanliness between events.
• Clean event spaces and banquet supplies.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Banquets Manager and staff.

What We’re Looking For

• A friendly, welcoming, and professional personality.
• Strong attention to detail and an approachable, hospitable attitude.
• Previous Houseman experience, specifically in a private club or similar environment.
• Basic understanding of event setup.
• Strong verbal communication skills.
• Ability to remain focused while staying on your feet and moving throughout your shift.
• Ability to bend, climb stairs, and safely lift and carry items weighing up to 40 pounds.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• ServSafe certification is preferred.

Schedule

This position offers a very flexible, event-driven schedule. Because shifts are based around pre- and post-event timelines, team members may be scheduled for early mornings or late evenings.

Typical shift windows may include:

• 6:00 AM – 12:00 PM
• 7:00 PM – 12:00 AM
• Nights, weekends, and holidays as needed

Flexibility is an important part of being successful in this role.
