Banquet Server and Bartender

Key Responsibilities:

- Set up banquet rooms and bar areas according to event specifications

- Greet guests warmly and provide attentive, professional service throughout the event

- Serve food and beverages promptly and accurately, ensuring guest satisfaction

- Prepare and serve a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages in accordance with standard recipes and safety guidelines

- Monitor guest needs and respond promptly to requests or concerns

- Maintain cleanliness and organization of service areas before, during, and after events

- Adhere to all health, safety, and alcohol service regulations and policies

- Collaborate with event staff and management to ensure seamless event execution

Skills and Qualifications:

- Previous experience as a banquet server and bartender is preferred

- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a high-pressure environment

- Knowledge of beverage preparation and serving techniques

- Strong attention to detail and professionalism

- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift moderate loads

- Valid bartending license or certification as required by local regulations

- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed

• RBS certification (California ABC). Anyone who serves alcohol, and their managers, needs a Responsible Beverage Service certificate. New hires have 60 days from their first day to get it, and the exam has to be passed within 30 days of finishing training. The training costs about $12–15 online through an ABC-approved provider, plus a small ABC exam fee.
• San Bernardino County food handler card. The county runs its own program, so it has to be the county card, not a generic "California" card. It's due within 14 days of hire and is required for anyone who handles open food, which covers banquet servers plating or bussing and bartenders cutting garnishes.
• Minimum age. Bartenders mixing and pouring behind the bar must be 21. Servers 18 and up can carry and serve drinks in a dining or banquet area where food is served.
• Prior banquet, catering or bar experience, often 1+ years for bartending
• Able to lift or carry 25–50 lbs, stand for 8+ hours, and set up or break down tables and chairs
• Flexible schedule, including weekends, evenings and holidays, since events drive the schedule
• Knowledge of drink recipes, pouring standards and carding procedures (for bartenders)
