E&M Technologies, Inc. is currently seeking a Senior Architecture & Engineering Support Systems Engineer to join our team in Offutt AFB, NE in support of USSTRATCOM. USSTRATCOM is a combatant command with responsibilities that span strategic deterrence, nuclear operations, Nuclear Command, Control, and Communications (NC3), enterprise operations, Joint Electromagnetic Spectrum (EMS) Operations (JEMSO), global strike, and missile threat assessment. Executing these responsibilities entails close alignment and collaboration with senior national and Department of Defense (DoD) leadership, functional and geographic combatant commands, defense agencies, and other elements of national power. Strategic deterrence is critical to the DoD’s integrated deterrence approach. USSTRATCOM’s ability to communicate is foundational to its mission and success, ensuring the safety and security of the United States (U.S.) and its allies, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year (24x365).
Job Responsibilities:
- Provide systems engineering and architecture support for AFNWC.
- Provide comprehensive systems and network engineering and architectural planning services.
- Interface with O&S personnel by providing strategic design and support to projects, as directed.
- Review existing architecture on a regular basis, recommending and assisting with the design and implementation of systems and network improvements as required.
- Responsible for planning, solutioning, and improvement of AFWNC capabilities with a specific focus on cybersecurity and the implementation and design of the application layer.
Minimum Qualifications:
- BS/BA, 10+ years of IT engineering experience
- ITIL Foundations v5 Certificate and DoD 8140 Certification within 9 Months
- Strong ability to develop, analyze, and optimize complex system architectures supporting mission-critical AFNWC capabilities.
- Skill in planning, designing, and improving secure network infrastructures that meet operational and cybersecurity requirements.
- Deep understanding of cybersecurity principles, secure application-layer design, and implementation of protective measures aligned with DoD and Air Force standards.
- Proficiency in designing, evaluating, and enhancing application-layer components to support secure, efficient system performance.
- Ability to review existing architectures, identify weaknesses, and recommend enhancements that improve security, performance, and reliability.
- Strong capability to interface with O&S teams, provide strategic design guidance, and support mission-driven project needs.
- Competence in developing long-term architectural strategies, creating technical solutions, and planning upgrades to improve AFNWC capabilities.
- Experience using modeling, design, and diagnostic tools for system configuration, performance analysis, and architecture validation.
- Ability to identify architectural risks, conduct impact assessments, and ensure compliance with AF, DoD, and cybersecurity governance requirements.
- Skill in creating clear engineering documentation, architecture diagrams, and communicating complex technical recommendations to stakeholders.
- Ability to work collaboratively with developers, engineers, O&S personnel, and cybersecurity professionals to align architectural improvements with mission objectives.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen.?
- Must have and be capable of maintaining a U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) security clearance at the required level.?
Preferred Qualifications:
- 5 years or more experience in supporting USSTRATCOM Global Operations Center (GOC) and/or other operations centers at Combatant Commands, Joint Staff, or DoD levels.
- Experience in the NC2 operational platforms, communications, and modes of operations.
- ITIL V4 Certification (will provide after hire)
