POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Join the YMCA of Greater Oklahoma City as a Group Exercise and Active Aging Coordinator, where you will play a vital role in promoting health, wellness, and active lifestyles within our community. This position offers an exciting opportunity to lead engaging fitness programs tailored to diverse age groups, fostering a welcoming environment that encourages lifelong health and well-being.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop, plan, and lead group exercise classes suitable for various age groups, including seniors and adults.
- Promote active aging initiatives to enhance the physical, mental, and social well-being of participants.
- Assess participants' fitness levels and tailor programs to meet individual needs and goals.
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and motivating environment during all classes and activities.
- Collaborate with staff and community partners to organize special events, workshops, and wellness programs.
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, participant progress, and program outcomes.
- Ensure safety protocols are followed and equipment is properly maintained.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- Must be certified in PR/CPR, AED, O2, and First Aid. (Training provided by the Y, if needed)
- Must be 21 years of age or older.
- Certification in group exercise instruction (e.g., ACE, AFAA, NASM) required.
- Experience working with older adults and designing age-appropriate fitness programs preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to motivate and engage diverse populations.
- Knowledge of safety standards and proper use of fitness equipment.
- Passion for promoting active aging and community health.
