About the Position

Our facility is looking for a Shipping / Receiving Technician who can keep materials moving accurately and efficiently while providing professional service to the people who interact with our Shipping Department.

This isn't just a forklift job. The position combines shipping and receiving, computer work, paperwork, organization, material handling, and customer service.

You'll receive incoming materials, prepare outgoing shipments, maintain accurate records, operate a forklift, and use shipping and inventory systems. You'll also interact with drivers, vendors, customers, and others who come into the department.

Because Shipping/Receiving is often one of the first places visitors interact with our Company, we're looking for someone who is organized, accurate, dependable, and professional with people.

What You'll Do

  • Receive incoming materials and prepare outgoing shipments.
  • Verify parts, quantities, and paperwork before materials are received or shipped.
  • Inspect incoming shipments for obvious damage or discrepancies.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate shipping and receiving documentation.
  • Enter and retrieve information using shipping, inventory, and other computer systems.
  • Use carrier software and other shipping programs as required.
  • Operate a forklift to safely load, unload, and move materials.
  • Organize incoming and outgoing materials so parts can be easily identified and located.
  • Coordinate with production and other departments to keep materials moving.
  • Identify and resolve discrepancies before shipments leave the facility.
  • Communicate professionally with drivers, vendors, customers, and visitors.
  • Prioritize multiple shipments, deliveries, and production requests throughout the day.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized Shipping/Receiving area.
  • Follow established safety, quality, and shipping procedures.

What We're Looking For

  • Previous Shipping/Receiving, inventory, warehouse, or related experience.
  • Forklift experience.
  • Comfortable using computers and learning new software.
  • Experience with shipping, inventory, ERP/MRP, carrier, or similar systems is strongly preferred.
  • Ability to accurately compare physical parts and quantities to paperwork and computer records.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and changing demands.
  • Ability to recognize discrepancies and investigate them before proceeding.
  • Professional communication and customer-service skills.
  • Ability to interact courteously with drivers, vendors, customers, and visitors.
  • Dependable attendance and punctuality.
  • Ability to consistently work the assigned schedule.
  • Willingness to help wherever needed to keep the department and production moving.

We're looking for someone who understands that shipping the right parts, in the right quantity, with the right paperwork matters just as much as getting the truck loaded on time.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday.
  • Ability to frequently bend, reach, grasp, and handle parts and materials.
  • Ability to safely operate a forklift and other material-handling equipment.
  • Ability to load, unload, move, and organize materials as required by the position.
  • Ability to move between computer/paperwork tasks and physical Shipping/Receiving duties throughout the day.
  • Ability to work in an active production and Shipping/Receiving environment.

Benefits

Eligible employees have access to a competitive benefits package that includes:

  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • NICE Healthcare
