The Campus Delivery Driver will safely transport and deliver prepared meals, vending products, and campus mail across four campus locations within a three-mile radius. Reporting to the Executive Chef, this position supports daily campus operations through reliable deliveries, organized inventory management, and courteous customer service. The schedule is primarily daytime hours, with occasional early mornings or adjusted schedules as needed.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver prepared meals, vending products, and mail across four campus locations, following designated routes and schedules.
  • Verify meal orders and maintain proper food temperatures and safe handling practices.
  • Stock vending machines, rotate products, monitor inventory, and report equipment issues.
  • Sort and distribute mail and packages, maintaining confidentiality and required delivery records.
  • Safely load and unload deliveries, inspect and clean the vehicle, and report maintenance or safety concerns.
  • Provide courteous service, communicate delivery updates, and perform other related duties as assigned.

Essential requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED and a valid Virginia driver’s license appropriate to the assigned vehicle.
  • At least 18 years old and able to meet applicable driving requirements.
  • No more than two moving violations in the past three years and no DUI/DWI convictions in the past five years.
  • Must pass pre-employment driving record, background, and drug screenings.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds, use hand trucks and dollies with loads up to 200 pounds, and stand, walk, and bend throughout the shift.
  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors and accommodate occasional schedule adjustments.
  • Strong organization, reliability, and customer service skills.
  • Professional driving experience preferred; food service, vending, or mail delivery experience is a plus.
  • CDL and DOT medical certification required only if applicable to the assigned vehicle and duties.
