Position Summary: Apply mechanical theory and technical skills to support manufacturing activities. Develop tools, implement designs, and integrate custom systems for the Aerospace and Defense Industry.
Essential Job Duties:
- Integrate racks and instruments as shown in the documentation and/or drawings.
- Primary responsibility is the building and wiring of test systems (referred to as integration).
- Install wiring to include a variety of cable systems (GPIB, LAN, RF, SIGNAL, and POWER).
- Install each of these systems with the correct strain relief, bend radius, support, and look neat and organized.
- Work with engineering on any issues in both the mechanical fit or electrical/electronic issues and Red Line the drawings with any changes approved during integration.
- Ability to do the work in the allotted time as suggested by the quote workbook.
- Ability to work in a neat and proficient manner.
- Ability to work with delicate connections and cables.
- Prepare the system for shipment. Photograph, clean, and do final prep work for shipping.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Primarily mechanical assembly but knowledge of electronics and electricity is recommended.
- Ability to assemble racks, fixtures, and instruments.
- Ability to read and comprehend written and oral instructions.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings (blueprints)
- Planning & organizing skills: Ability to understand the order that the system is built and keep material neat and organized. Also need to be aware of the timeline and complete the assignment on time.
- Decision making & problem-solving skills. Ability to understand problems and alternate solutions or know when to call in engineering support.
- Customer Service Skills. Ability to understand the customer’s desires and be willing to work to their specifications and timeline.
- Teamwork. Ability to work as part of a larger team and be able to work in cross functional teams.
- Must be very detailed orientated and accurate. We serve a very elite client base that has very high expectations of what we deliver, both in function and overall appearance.
- Skillful with hand and small power tools.
- Knowledge of standard and metric hardware.
- Must be reliable and responsible.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, and basic computer skills.
- Ability to distinguish colors
Education and Experience Preferred:
- Some higher education or specialized training/certification.
- A minimum of 2 years- 4 years of experience.
- An understanding of general and technical aspects of the job.
