Description
Summary: The Radiologic Technologist – CT Technologist operates diagnostic equipment for the performance of radiology procedures at a technical level not requiring direct supervision. Provides customer service to include; answering phones, scheduling appointments, providing patient preparation instructions or education post procedure.
Essential Functions:
- Schedules, performs and formats all types of C.T. Scans, general X-ray, Fluoroscopy, Bone density and C-Arm procedures.
- Verifies patient name and procedure to be performed; verifies exam order, including pre-authorization.
- Documents procedures and applicable patient history. May do phone follow-up when required.
- Assists physician during special procedures, set up and maintain sterile trays and equipment. Anticipate equipment or supplies needed during procedures.
Assists in maintaining department up-keep, including ordering and stocking supplies, cleaning or maintenance of equipment within the authorized scope of training/certification.
- Maintains current state and national license and registration.
- Participates in peer review processes; assist with staff and student development programs.
- Maintains and develops own professional competencies.
- There are other duties, while not considered essential for this position, are required as part of the function of this position.
Requirements
Position Qualifications:Education and/or Experience:
- Graduation from an accredited Radiology/Medical Imaging program.
- Obtain and maintain New Mexico licensure.
- Current American Registry of Radiological Technologists (ARRT).
- Must obtain CT certification within one year of employment.
