Description

The Commercial Vehicle Sales Representative develops new business and grows commercial vehicle sales throughout the Denver metro market. This position represents a broad product portfolio that includes Stellantis, GMC, Chevrolet, and Ford commercial vehicles. The ideal candidate enjoys the automotive and truck industry, builds relationships easily, and is motivated by prospecting, face-to-face customer interaction, and closing new business.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop new commercial vehicle business through regular outbound prospecting, door-to-door visits, networking, referrals, and community involvement.
  • Identify and pursue prospective customers, including businesses, fleet operators, contractors, municipalities, and other organizations with commercial vehicle needs.
  • Represent and sell the available lineup of Stellantis, GMC, Chevrolet, and Ford commercial vehicles within the assigned market.
  • Build and maintain a consistent sales pipeline and follow up promptly on leads, referrals, quotes, and customer requests.
  • Meet with customers to understand their operations, vehicle applications, replacement cycles, budgets, and future fleet needs.
  • Recommend vehicle solutions that align with each customer's business requirements and coordinate specifications, availability, pricing, and delivery.
  • Prepare and present proposals, pricing, and product information in a professional and timely manner.
  • Develop long-term customer relationships that support repeat business, referrals, and account growth.
  • Maintain accurate records of prospecting activity, customer communication, opportunities, and sales progress in the company's systems.
  • Partner with dealership leadership, sales teams, finance, service, parts, and other internal departments to provide a strong customer experience.
  • Monitor market activity, competitor offerings, and customer trends to identify new business opportunities.
  • Achieve established activity, revenue, gross profit, and unit sales goals.
  • Represent the company professionally at customer locations, industry events, trade shows, and community functions.
  • Other duties as assigned by the manager.
Requirements

WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL ABILITIES:

  • This is a field-based outside sales position requiring frequent travel throughout the Denver metro market andsurrounding areas.
  • Regularly works at customer locations, dealership facilities, outdoor vehicle lots, and community or industry events.
  • Must be able to enter and exit commercial vehicles, walk vehicle lots and customer sites, and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, drive, communicate, and use a computer, telephone, and other standard business equipment.
  • Must be able to occasionally lift and carry up to 25 pounds.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education in business, sales, marketing, automotive technology, or a related field preferred.
  • Previous outside sales, business development, automotive, truck, fleet, dealership, or related experience preferred.
  • Genuine interest in the automotive and commercial truck industry.
  • Outgoing, self-motivated, and ambitious approach with the confidence to initiate conversations and build new relationships.
  • Demonstrated ability to prospect consistently, develop a territory, and move opportunities through the sales process.
  • Strong interpersonal, presentation, negotiation, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to learn and communicate vehicle features, applications, specifications, and available solutions across multiple manufacturers.
  • Strong organization and time-management skills with the ability to independently plan daily sales activity and manage multiple opportunities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to learn dealership, customer relationship management, and manufacturer systems.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to meet company driving requirements.
  • Ability to successfully complete a General Abilities Assessment and pass post-offer background check, physical and drug screening.
