Activities Assistant

We are seeking a compassionate and creative individual to join our team as a Activities Assistant, dedicated to promoting active lifestyles through music, games, arts, and crafts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, organize, and facilitate engaging activities that promote cognitive stimulation and physical activity for seniors
- Incorporate music, games, arts, and crafts into daily programming to enhance residents' well-being and quality of life
- Assess residents' interests and abilities to tailor activities that meet their individual needs
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive environment for all participants
- Collaborate with staff and family members to ensure activities align with residents' care plans
- Maintain activity supplies and ensure the safety of all participants during activities
Skills and Qualifications:
- Prior experience working with seniors, especially those with cognitive limitations, is preferred
- Strong knowledge of activity planning, including music therapy, arts and crafts, and recreational games
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Compassionate, patient, and enthusiastic about making a difference in seniors' lives
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Creative problem-solving skills and adaptability to residents' changing needs
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional certifications in recreational therapy or related fields are a plus
