Description
The Pipefitter Journeyman modifies, assembles, installs, welds, and tests piping systems on marine vessels following blueprints, layouts and work orders, while using hand tools and shop machines.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS / DUTIES
- Reads job specifications to accomplish requirements
- Ability to read all blueprints and other documentation
- Ability to accomplish Piping modifications and new installations with no supervision
- Accomplish all type of testing, hydro and air
- Must be able to bend, thread piping, and weld
- Set up all phases of Hot Work
Requirements
KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS
· Must follow all Safety and Company Policies
· Ability to accomplish testing of all systems
· Ability to troubleshoot drawing problems and provide solutions
· Employee must be able to properly set up brazing/cutting equipment onboard a ship
· Able to operate various equipment, benders/threaders etc.
· Have knowledge of all types of piping systems

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Must have a minimum of 4 + years of ship repair experience and qualifications
- High school or equivalent
- Knowledge of marine piping systems, blueprint readings, Silver-brazing procedures and military specifications
Salary Description
$28 - $35 an hour
